Cobh Wanderers (H - Munster Senior Cup)

The first "serious" game of pre-season tomorrow, as Stephen Henderson's charges roll into Mounthawk Park in the last 16 of the provincial competition. The other team in Cobh are currently bottom of the Munster Senior League, and took a 4-0 hammering off College Corinthians last weekend. Goalkeeper Darragh Burke is one of their few players with League of Ireland experience, but you would hope Healy will treat both the cup and the opponents with the requisite respect and attention, fielding a first-choice XI for as long as may be required to put the tie to bed.

Looking forward to seeing the new signings and the formation Healy plays. I presume Brookwell will be moved to midfield with the defenders we have now. Also some of the younger lads got a run out against Treaty on Tuesday so will be interesting to see how they fare.

3 months since the last league game. The Wexford home game was a disappointment. Hopefully a good aggressive performance this evening though it's early doors.

All the new signings are being deployed tonight, at any rate - Halwax - O'Connell, Cantwell, Hakkinen, Lee - McGrath, Borden, Healy, Okwute - Murphy, Doolan.

Good way to start the year properly. Good old reliables delivering the goals. The more things change the more some things stay the same. Waterford away on Tuesday seems to be the only scheduled game before the quarter final.

Two goals worthy of winning any game. Cobh were well drilled defensively. No real stand out performances but Dan and Sean Mcgrath caused problems for them. Halwax kicking dosent look good but had nothing of note to do. Hakkinen and their number nine had a good tustle. Borden was poor in possession but like the keeper hopefully games bring them on. Doolan and Murphy got little change from the Cobh defence.
Good crowd, maybe 3to4 hundred, so along with the win that's a positive.
