Where exactly is this on? Muih..... however ya spell it?

Muirhevna is a spot close to the college in Dundalk, leafy parts, the place where the Shels game is on is called Muirhevnamor (council estate and one of the biggest in Ireland), you can get to via the bypass close to where the Omniplex Cinema is.

As others have said, its a cage pitch, can't see how any sort of crowd can be accommodated, I wouldn't travel up if I was a Shels fan. Game should probably be on at Tolka.

Would there be that much interest in it? You'd fit a couple of hundred around a cage - enough for an LSC game?

Rovers are playing UCD at the Roadstone Academy per the FAI app which I think is similar? So they don't seem to mind

It seems not. I saw a few photos from the game and there’s plenty of empty spaces around the cage, same as any LOI pre-season game on an Astro really. Dundalk currently leading Shels U20s 2-1 with 15 mins left, goals scored by Mullen and Kenny. Drogheda are 4-0 up on Montpelier with 5 mins to go, goals from Cruise, Brennan (pen), Kavanagh (pen) and Farrell, all coming in the first half

Harps 1-0 Sligo in Finn Park tonight. A barely playable pitch and awful weather conditions but a decent run out for the two sides.

Kerry had a run out away to Treaty last evening. Cobh Wanderers up next in the MSC Last 16 on Friday. Kerry looking to avoid a potential banana skin and hopefully start the year with something of a cup run.

Dundalk game was good craic, lrobia couple hundred adorable the cage but loads of room at the same time, it wasn't the easiest cage to see through, ended up getting inside for a better view thankfully. Dundalk pretty much full strength, Shels u20's. Dundalk played some nice stuff, especially second half. Very impressed with Ronan Teahan. Would worry about the defence. Mayowa was very poor and went off with a knock. Buckley looks a bit off it atm, not sure Wilson is PD level. Dundalk will need the likes of Cornwall to stay fit.

Galway Utd are going to Wales next week to play a few friendlies. I have no idea who they're playing against though but I hope we find a good striker over there

The Finn Harps vs Derry City friendly which was due to be played at 5pm Saturday has been postponed at the request of the visiting club.

Apparently they are beset by injuries, I just find it strange a team like Derry with so many players on their books can't find 15-20 or so players for a game less then an hour away

Harps released a statement stating their disappointment and asking the same question. If it was a home game against a bigger club than Harps they would have found players.

Derry are struggling with niggles and injuries however I don't think that is an excuse at all.

There is no reason why we couldnt use some of our under 20s and feed in some of the young boys that have been on the peripheral like that young fella Liam Kelly (Player of the tournament in the supercup)

Derry away to warm weather on Monday aswell. A game before that would have been good.

H If it was a home game against a bigger club than Harps they would have found players.

I'd say if it were at home vs Harps for them they would of played it, apart from possibly Sligo no other LOI club would of brought a sizeable away support to a friendly in the Brandywell

Bohs playing two friendlies tonight at the same time against Athlone and Longford. A couple of "trialists" listed but they're probably just players not registered on the FAI app for some reason.

Won 4-1 against Athlone with two goals from the Hugh Martin lad, looks like he's part of the first team squad afterall.

2-1 win against Longford too.

Ringmahon Rangers 2-1 Treaty AET.

Great game in Mayfield between Ringmahon and Treaty. Nine of the fifteen players in the squad from the 20s, three of the other five are still eligible for 20s I think. Treaty sending a stronger squad to play Sligo Rovers in Mayo this Saturday afternoon.

Matt Jones the star of the show for Treaty. A terrible individual error led to the equaliser and a non existent penalty with the last kick of ET gave Ringmahon the win. Should have been up 3-0 but that's life.

Lucas Keating has reffed two of Treaty's three pre season games and he has been shocking. He's lucky that he's Hennessy's sidekick.

Treaty's blasé approach to the MSC being a reflection of a club who have picked up the baton dropped by Limerick FC. Same ground. Same supporters more or less. Making an FAI Cup semi final v Derry or progression in the MSC not a big deal for Limerick FC - Treaty United folk.

Weird post, not sure your issue with Limerick Senior Football.

Treaty United getting to a fai cup semi final while amateur in their second year is and was a big deal.

Ringmahon was a good litmus test for a predominantly 20s side. Don't think there would be any other opportunity for them to play a good men's team in a competitive setting.

Limerick FC and Tragedy United might be separate entities but Limerick FC and Treaty United blend into the one really in terms of manager, some of the players in their first season, home ground and continuity of most supporters. Someone was commenting a few months back on Limerick FC and Treaty being different clubs but many aspects are the same.
For a new club like Kerry - getting to an FAI Cup semi final and going on a run in the MSC is a big deal. It is nothing like that for Limerick FC - Treaty United managers, players and supporters.

TBF, Legendz, I agree with Shearer here - no point worrying about what other clubs do until we have some meaningful achievements of our own to talk about, not that a Cup semi and MSC final are nothing, but to build proper rivalries in Munster, reaching the playoffs are a must.

Do people care about the MSC? The LSC is a joke of a tournament, badly organised and now effectively glorified pre-season friendlies, often on the same day or within 24 hours of a first-team match. I'd find it bizarre if it were suggested that a blase approach to the LSC were a criticism of a club. The MSC feels slightly better organised, but still similarly minor stuff.

culloty82
17/01/2026, 8:03 PM
Well, given Kerry are unlikely to ever win the FAI Cup (although given Longford did so in the past, not impossible for rural clubs), it's about the only meaningful opportunity for silverware, which is why you saw a virtually first-choice XI last night, and Cobh certainly appreciated their successes in the tournament in recent seasons.

Is this ragebait?
Why are you turning this into a bizarre d!ck measuring contest?
Are you upset about another club's attitude to a cup competition?

Treaty getting to an FAI Cup Semi-Final is and was a big deal. It was the third team in 28 years it happened to a senior club in the city - the other two times it happened (93/94 & 2017) where when they were competing in the Premier Division. They lost by the odd goal to the eventual winners who leathered Shelbourne.

It's not like Treaty hit the reset button and started again with the exact same people. There is plenty of players and staff who were part of the previous regime, but plenty of new people too. Limerick is a small place and if you were to cast aside those who went before you wouldn't be long running out of options.

Good result for Ringmahon however Treatys defeat sums up the basket case the club is.Wth all due respect to the Munster senior league team they are nothing more than a glorified junior team,if the clubs academy players plus reserves cannot win games like this it sums up the failures the system has produced now years in the making.

Treaty's approach to the MSC is their own choice. A reflection of a club who are Limerick FC, without the name and previous owners. Some want to split hairs when there is a blurring of the lines.
Limerick city has come on well in recent years. Treaty Limerick should be in a dominant position in the Midwest. Completely inept currently at representing the Midwest region. The Waterford owners, while there are problems, put plans in place in the south east.

Munster senior teams beat weakened Lou teams almost every year in the competition . Ringmahon have a lot of ex Loi lads and would beat most junior teams well . On the flip side didn’t Waterford u20s beat a full Kerry team in the final a couple of years back . Not much talk of that at the time from legendz and the like . Kerry should have been in the playoffs last couple of seasons but can’t seem to get it right although I do believe they are much better this year and should finish second or third easily .

Kerry are the club who probably want to win the MSC the most. That doesn't mean they'll win it. After the great run to the final in '24 at the first attempt, Waterford utilised their squad to good effect in the final. Cobh Ramblers won after extra time in the first round last year. Waterford and Cork rotating their squads will always be dangerous.
You'd expect to get through the banana skin games against the Cork Senior League. Cobh Wanderers were no mugs on Friday though. They hadn't fallen off the back of a lorry! They had their back 5 and defended well. They should have equalised really. Let Kerry off the hook and then Sean O'Connell scored a cracking second.

Bolton
Alonge
Cailloce
Holohan
Brennan
Dignam
Akimrintoyo
Murphy
McCullagh
Wynne

Subs - Kavanagh, Clancy, Lennox, Ogbonna, Healy, Raggett, O'Regan, Smith, Barron (! - he's our goalkeeping coach and full-time development officer, who hasn't played for the first team since 2013)

Healy was booked and Raggett ended as captain, so they came on as subs, but I don't know who for or who came off. Cailloce scored
