Sean Byrne and his management team will not be in charge for the new season in 2026 according to the club's Twitter account.

Dave Connell, the international women's U19 manager, has been appointed the new manager of Wexford FC Women. Needs to bridge the gap up to the top two but there are some very promising young players on the roster who might help. Disappointing news is the departure of Della Doherty to Peamount. Seemed to be coming back to her best at the end of the 2025 season after a horrific injury.

First confirmed signing for 2026 by new manager, Dave Connell, is the return of key defender, Lauren Dwyer.

Megan Smyth-Lynch moves from Shelbourne to Wexford for 2026. Ciara Rossiter and Lauren Kelly also confirmed as returning for the 2026 season.

Great news that Ellen Molloy returns to Wexford for the 2026 season. With Katie McCarn signed, you'd see Ellen playing more of a ten than a nine. Well done to the blazers as there were strong rumours that she might move!

Extraordinary news coming from Ferrycarrig that, just after the club stated that she was staying for the new season, Ellen Molloy is now confirmed as leaving. Not sure what happened, but Ellen's departure requires a massive restructuring of the women's team.
