Good article but I hope the journalist is joking when he suggests Doherty upfront?! Never been sold on him, nor Connolly......the only man for the job is Elliott next weekend.
This contract story is not the ideal preparation for the team, it shouldn't be dominating proceedings. We have to win two football matches or bust.

"That game is also noteworthy because, in competitive games under Kerr, Ireland have failed to beat any team ranked higher than Georgia, who were 86th in the world at the time."
Just something to cheer you up :)

Was that not Albania, no?
I don't know I am just quoting the report, actually having looked it up...
Republic of Ireland (IRL) 2:0 (1:0) Georgia (GEO)
UEFA EURO 2004 Prel. Comp. DUBLIN REPUBLIC OF IRELAND - 11.06.2003
Republic of Ireland (IRL) 2:1 (1:1) Albania (ALB)
UEFA EURO 2004 Prel. Comp. DUBLIN REPUBLIC OF IRELAND - 07.06.2003
So Albania was the previous 'big scalp' 4 days earlier.
