Rovers window has SO FAR been quiet.
Same team as last year minus Mandroiu plus Mulraney and byrne is back from pergotory.
Enda stevens will be a help especially when Pico is gone to the world cup. Noonan and Oshivunu a year older...
Reasons to ne hopeful and Brennan looked good when he came on against Derry.

What a week this is was for Shels, could have grabbed a nice transfer fee for Wood on Monday but doubled down to keep Wood with bringing Jarvis back two players who have the difference maker credentials if you want to win back the league title

Thomas Morley, Seán Murphy, Goodness Ogbonna and Charles Akinrintoyo look like they're the new signings at UCD for the season. Ogbonna has come up from the underage teams - was in the Ireland U17 squad at the recent World Cup. Thomas Morley is listed as Sligo Rovers online? Akinrintoyo is from Rovers' academy and no idea about Seán Murphy, which isn't the easiest of names to Google!

Ogbonna came from us as well but must have gone into your underage setup last year? Thought he was with your first team already tbh.

Heard good things about him and Akinrintoyo. Hope they do well for you.

Fairly sure I had Sean as a lecturer back in the day. Some career move for him.

Goodness is from Longford, and spent a few years in the Rovers underage setup alright. Think he made the bench for a European game last year at some stage, open to correction on that though. Moved to UCD last summer I believe, but was playing with their underage teams the second half of last year. A shame he's not with us tbh, meant to be a good prospect.

Not sure if it was a European game, but he did make the bench for us at least once, alright. Think it was during a bit of an injury crisis, but still shows that he was well thought of and around the first team squad. Was surprised when he left tbh as he was featuring for Ireland and seemed to be doing well.

Could be a good signing for Rovers. He certainly is a profitable one. Goes for €450k 2 years ago and comes back for free.

Clarke has goals in him if he can stay fit, id like to see him get a run tis season

You might get your wish! Started against UCD today. Would be amazing if we could get him back to even near his best.

Jarvis, McInroy and Wood in midfield gives them a huge amount of creativity this year. If that Portuguese striker is half decent or Boyd can stay half fit, Shels will definitely be in the mix and up there.

Shels will maybe up there but O'Brien does like the hooofball approach!

Cobh signed Rhys Brennan on loan for the season from Bohs. Have to imagine someone will be replacing him in the Bohs squad soon cause it leaves the attacking depth a little light and it was light already.

Vinnie Leonard leaving Dundalk for Norwich in the summer

400k I read? That's fairly good business by Dundalk. He was impressive at the u17 WC. More so than players who've gone or will go for a lot more. But probably fair enough for a defender?

The DFC ex CEO was part of the negotiations, Peter Halpin, he has a biz that promotes sports sponsorships, so hopefully on top of this initial 400K cash deal will be a sell on clause % and other add ons.

Good move for Vinnie, super player.

Sean Keogh and Vinny Leonard gone for decent money. Mayowa, Kenny , Spaight and Mulligan all played decent roles last year.

Despite all the turmoil in the club in recent years, something has gone right at that level.

Brighton. His younger brother recently signed from Shelbourne and was on the bench vs Derry.

Dundalk actually have a huge catchment area if they play their cards right. Keogh is from Skerries, while Mulligan is from Monaghan for example, Leonard from Meath, Spaight from Dundalk (Blackrock really).

Cracking signing for Kerry. Himself and McGlade are very similar, so not the end of the world for Ramblers if Dylan goes well, but should do a job under Healy

In classic LOI fashion, Pats named a lad on the bench called Yssouf Soro from the Ivory Coast last night, but have still not announced him as a signing and there’s nothing online about him when you search his name which would suggest he wasn’t playing at any sort of decent standard but we shall see… They’ve done that before, naming a new signing along with the matchday squad update to I guess spring the element of surprise on the opposition, but in this case not announcing him at all is pretty bizarre

Shels have recalled James Roche from his loan at Athlone after just two games. Barrett, Casey, Mbeng all went off with injuries on Friday night and Norris is currently injured so it's look Shels are in a bit of bother at the back for the next while

Very disappointed, he looks a prospect, did very well at right full and very comfortable when moved to centre back aswell.

I know we were after him before he went to the UK, but it does seem a little strange to sign him now, having brought Boyce in. With Elbouzedi on that side too can they all fit in ? It looks like its the other end of the field that we need players, rather than at the back.

Potentially having a winger at left back and a right back on the wing would sum up how messily our squad is assembled once again.

I just hope Kenny has a plan for this signingand its not just one between boyce and brown start and the other is back up. Kenny is known for wanting two senior players for each position. Waste of money when you have one of the best academies around.

Like my point earlier, he's ruining the pathway to the 1st team and it's something we have come to heavily rely on for financial reasons.

Can clubs do that. I thought they changed it that when a loan was agreed that was it until the loan was over.

Presume they can only do it while the transfer window is still open. And he won't be able to play for a third club this season if he plays for Shels.

I always chuckle at these signing quotes from randomers from the UK or further afield about how excited they are and what a "huge club" their new club is. The latest being a lad who's just signed for Shels until July, but there were similar words from someone Bohs signed earlier on today.

Frantz Pierrot signed for Galway

Weren't Bohs fans hinting (online, pinch of salt etc.) that he was going their way over the last few days? Big coup for Galway if they've chinned Bohs to a signing of Pierrot's calibre.

If he hits the ground running and reproduces his Drogs form, he could be a game changer for Galway. Fancied them for the drop before a ball was kicked because I didn't see where their goals would come from - this could change things big time though.

Wonder would Boyce play on the right side of a back three , I read where he played there as a centre back at under age level with Derry
