This was a piece in the Editorial of the match day program for the Dublin City game.

Tonight's match sponsor is the South Sligo Supporters Club. Formed in 1995 this group of supporters have done marvellous work for the club in the past ten years having raised in excess of €130,000 for Sligo Rovers Football Club. They are an inspiration to all of us.

I didn't realise they were around for so long. That's an awful lot of money raised by them especially when the gaa is the main sport out there. Well done to all involved

Yes, great credit must be given to this group of supporters. 130,000 euro raised for the club in their ten year existence, is a fantastic achievement. That’s an average of 13,000 euro a year. They must have a very good supporters club out there. Well done lads.
It would do no harm for the Trust to have a chat with these guys. They obviously have had a few very successful fund raisers down the years. If that level of funding can be achieved in south Sligo, then there must be an unknown level of funds to be raised in the town.
Once again, well done south Sligo.
