No statement from the club is disappointing. Anyone involved last night in violent behaviour, should be routed out and banned from Dalymount. No place for scum like that at Bohs.
And when they do they'll release it on 12 inch vinyl

Stunned at the lack of a statement from either club or the FAI.

I remember this, we were up and 4 of us staying over, (Maldron -excellent spot) we walked past the bus area, and obv spoke to a few DFC fans, but we were heading back into the city (and to be absolutely clear, we had a brilliant day in the Bentley bar, food and drinks and Mary B bar pre game), but we could sense some tension, we were happy to be heading into the city. Great night mind.

For Anoraks out there, that was the last LC final played, so although Derry C have won so many, we have the last trophy played for in 2019. Some season that was, league winners, LC winners, lost on pens FAI Cup final, then battered Linfield 6-1 on agg, Unite Cup Final.

#Where did it all go wrong George?

It was All Ireland Final replay day too if I remember correctly

We got the bus up early to watch the game and the locals in the bars on the bogside were all 100% and absolutely delighted they had the custom for the day

The issues that day started when our fans ran on pitch after the game and of course a few wee *****s went down to the Derry singing end giving it the hard man dance. This led to a group waiting to attack the buses
Thankfully we got away

In saying that, of all the Euro trips, trips to cork, cup finals era that Derry away day is one of the best days I've had supporting Dundalk

P.S we need to bring back the League Cup

Sounds painful! Maybe whats needed.

That lack of policing prescence in Derry is going back to the start of the troubles and when Derry City were stopped from playing in the NIFL in 1972. The footage doenst look great tbh. Imo dont think there ever be an all island league as the differences between the FAI and IFA cant be bridged. Until there is uniformed police in the Brandywell there will always be trouble.

Have to say and to balance up, two stay over trips in 2019 in Derry, Feb or March (freezing - but amazing curry chips at the ground, then Sept) we had a brilliant time, locals were spot on whoever we met.

Only place we socialised in close to ground was Mary B's, again all very friendly.

But, def did witness that tension at the bus parking spot, it seemed to be managed well though, prob those who were not at the game involved.

Not sure I'd necessarily agree with that. A greater police presence outside the ground would be welcome though.
You don't really get incidents coming from inside the ground so much these days, it's outside that's the real issue.

Mind you, the PSNI were there on Friday and the bother still happened. If someone wants to start stuff 700m from the ground, police inside it won't make a difference.

Never had trouble at derrry away , always stay over, always walk to and from the Ryan McBride, locals are a sound bunch.
Obviously a dodgy bunch of Bohs hangers on with their Welsh hoolie mates starting bother. With some bogside lads who wouldn’t be averse to a row, sad *******s but let them at ir

Would love to see the League Cup back as well, it was a great competition.
On attacks outside grounds, I recall a Dundalk supporters bus being attacked by St Pats fans and windows smashed on the road in Inichore after a league match with Pats. Stephen O Donnell being the home manager and Vinny Perth in charge of the visitors. 2-0 to Pats the result and it was a mid-week game after a cup semi-final in Inchicore I think and Pats won the FAI cup the same year. I was surprised that there was very little coverage in the Dublin media about the incident afterwards.

Sounds more negotiated than simply agreed that statement.
