You can only do 3 unless you've other clubs permission. They've the backing of league. Fair play.
Village signed 4 Doolans Cow players last season. There is nothing in the rule book that says anything to back up your claim. Seems a bit of stirring the pot from you, knowing Leonard i dont think he would do something like that and lastly what they gonna do force Jamie to play with them?

Is there any truth to the cow entering aoh rumour?
They have the Munster junior cup if they are looking for a challenge. The AOH is a cup designed specifically for AUL teams so it’s a different cup if the cow is in it.

Doolans cow went out of football for a season . So their players could be signed by anyone
Just to clarify - A Player may only be registered for one (1) club at a time. No club may sign more than three (3) Players on Amateur forms from the same club during the latter club’s current season except with the consent of the Executive Committee of the club as confirmed in writing by the Secretary of the club from which the Players are being signed.

But it’s the off season.
Players are effectively free agents at the end of the season

Nobody is a free agent anymore fruice, you're a but out of touch.
They may or may not follow through but the AUL are advising as it's The Shipping League. Seem to be quite threatened with what's going on over there.

Thats why I said effectively.
I understand full well that the club holds the players registration until transferred or it’s terminated on the FAI system.
But it’s relatively easy for player to transfer their registration
Where is this rule on a limit of 3 players in the “current season “coming from.
And most importantly define “current season”
Either way it’s only a delaying tactic as one way or another he will be playing for the COW in the near future
Play it out

This window is this season.
He will be at Doolans, it will come to nothing in end as too much hassle.

Any more news on new teams or teams leaving? Great to see there seems to be an appetite back in the county for ball. A couple of years ago it wasn't looking great. Sullane should be a good addition, great to see a team from mallow town getting involved too, a very young side I believe. Los zarcos and imogeela having a bit of success the past couple seasons gets fellas wanting to get involved, hopefully their second teams can compete in division 3.

Interesting some of the new rule changes; I like the one on goal keeper timewasting / 8 sec rule.
Fair play for AUL for raising awareness on the new rules.

Grattan have a habit of being light on numbers and still somehow managing to piece it together to be competitive ( vs everyone outside of Coachford)
They have a core of really good older players who are generally reliable.
Grattan are a nice club, a lot of clubs would like to have done as well as Grattan over the decades and i`d hope/expect they will get it right.
On a seperate note their is still no sign of the sections being confirmed by the AUL with the league starting in a few weeks. you would expect the sections to be out well before the fixtures are announced it seems that may as well happen at the same time this year. As mentioned previously teams could be organising friendlies for the next couple of weeks against teams they play in the league a week or two later. It`s not ideal

I watched about 70 minutes of gratten game last night before it started raining, by christ it was a bad watch I know It was first game back but going on players that were on display last night and losing to a shipping league team I feer for gratten this season, im putting it out there I can see gratten been relegated YES relegated to many old folks playing with them and fellas think there above everyone else, huge EGOS up there and will and has cost um in previous seasons.

With regards the sections they normally appear around the bank holiday weekend sometimes later.
Nothing to get excited about.
Most clubs won’t get back at it properly until this week or next

Grattan B will put up a strong challenge for trophies this season in Division 1 (If that`s where they go as expected).
They have a few tasty players who have dropped down from the A team like Mark O Sullivan & Eric Shinkwin)
Strong all over the park though and will match anyone at that level.
Harsh ref
24/07/2025, 9:18 AM
Could be right there Balls surely Gary Coughlan Peelo Harry and Jp Sull will follow to them lads all late 30th can’t see them playing with A team this year if they want to compete
meballs
24/07/2025, 9:59 AM
That`s it Ref, i`d hate to see them not go as strong as they can in their 1st team though, wouldn`t be a fan of watching their second team win everything and their 1st team near the bottom of premier with lesser players. Hopefully they find a balance.

I wouldn’t doubt it but you still got to be sure you have teams week in week out.
Grattan have had this before when the A team folded and the Bs had to step up.
Harder to hide things now with the app in full flow!!

With all this new info I’m expecting the league finish as follows, 1 coachford 2…..still grattan 3 probably knocka or donoghmore, the league is going to be weak this year if all the rumours of fellas leaving and teams struggling and dropping off are true

They had to fine young players last year Kyle and Jamie who both would of being very good players this year for them but both have moved on big loss I think don’t think they have player on 30th signed this season so far meBalls hopefully Grattan can pull few young lads from area

What difference does it make?
Come the business end they couldn't be arsed to train or be fit.
Lads are criticised for changing from Village to Doolans and here are loads too stuffed to try for A so go to B and praised.
Grattan like majority are not a strong club on the pitch as the current group dont want it this summer or last season, end of.

Lads if where be realistic can anyone get near coachford boys again with Hill gone I don’t see it my take Castleview will give it all they can but fall away midway true season village will be village promise the world and we know the rest Knocka will talk the talk but. Won’t walk the walk and Grattan only team in years to get close struggling to sign looks like another treble for me

How's it going lads just caught up on the the last 7 pages and by god there was som absolute pony being said. I know there is plenty knowledgeable fellas here but some sound like they've never been around club properly. Firstly I think the Village talk comes from them being so active on social media and being from the Northside and being around grass roots football my whole life I can see the positives. I know Len aswel and the impression I get is is he's trying to build a club for the long run. Again I've managed an Aul team for 2 seasons and the reality in the Northside is the amount of choice for teams means building squads around the old guards of the club. About the Cow as far as I'm aware there is zero bad blood and the lads are all on good terms.
Now I think the leauge this year outside of coachford could be very competitive. I think knocka could give a few teams a big surprise including coachford who always found them sticky. Grattan are a part of the furniture in the Premier but for some reason there is always Rumours of struggling and folding every other year. Which in my opinion is usually ****e talk. I think Donaghmore will surprise teams this year if they keep there new signings from last year I felt there biggest issue last year was Aul experience. Village are basically rebuilding as best they can from the players lost .Jaime being the big one. He outscored one of the best amateur footballers in Ireland last year with bad fitness . But individual great players don't win you anything over the long run. I think they will find it tough this year to finish in the upper half of the leauge. Also somebody earlier said Zack for Vilage is not good when in fact he is one of the more promising young talents in the league and I'll stand by that having watching him at a few games at youth level and last year in the aul. I think if castleview regroup and get a solid 11 together they can beat anyone on there day. Shame about watergrass hill but there B team are no slouches they could definitely stay up in prem A but doubt they will win anything. Glad to hear of the new teams coming in, always a good sign. But on a serious note some fellas on here would wanna get off of there keyboards and actually go watch game before talking absolute b*llocks

Prob pulled the A team before registration was due for the leagues and they’ll just be renamed watergrasshill and stay in the lower division, it’s not rocket science
