Wow it’s great to have such football experts that know everything about a club on this page.
That same glenthorn team beat that hibs team (when they had 16 players) 3-0 2 weeks ago.
Worry about yere own clubs if ye even have a club.
Glenthorn were folding 2 years ago and now they have 2 teams with over 50 players signed.
That’s better than winning a MJC Match in my eyes all day long.
Did you mention in your detailed report that glenthorn had the better chances in the first half or that glenthorn were down to 10 men when hibs scored there last 3 goals.
Ye talk some ****e in this forum.
I suppose back to grattan bashing tomorrow if they don’t beat the cow.

50 players signed after asking every player In the northside. No respect for other clubs when asking all their players up to ye non stop all summer. Ye still don’t seem to have put together the squads ye were promising though. I’ll leave it at that.

21/8 age was irrelevant when you praised Howey but Fintan’s age is an issue.

Doolans 1-2 Grattan

It was a good game between both sides. It was probably the weakess Cow team ive seen for years especially going forward anyway, Jamie Murphy and Tony Reilly both missing for Doolans, big losses with the amount of goals they score. Grattan took the lead early on when Adam Lee turned and hit a low left leg effort than went under the Cow keeper to make it 1-0. Grattan were passing the ball around well and were looking more likely to score. Byrnesy missed a great header from a corner to make it two before HT.
Cow came out second half and were well on top and got a nice equaliser lovely through ball from Aaron Hennessy and their striker finished it off well 1-1.. Game was end to end now but Grattan looked more comfortable in possession. Grattan took the lead again a corner wasnt deal with probably and Anthony Byrnes flicked the ball into the bottom corner to it 2-1. Cow pushed to get the equaliser both didnt have enough going forward for me. The Cow keeper doint well on Adam Lee from a poor back pass to keepe them in the game. In the end Cow couldn't get the equaliser. The ref today wasnt great for both sides, he watched Gary Coughlan lash out on a Cow player at the end when he got rounded and gave a yellow. Ive seen reds for much less. Overall Grattan deserved it for me just done enough, Cow attacking flair wasnt there today.

As for Harsh ref, I think you should worry more about using commas, apostrophes and full stops than commenting on a game you never played. You would get an aneurysm trying to read some of you're replies. Game finished 2-1 was a good even game. A full Doolans Cow team probably wins that but we can all make excuses, can only beat whats in front of ya and thats what Grattan did. Fair play to them.

Grattan V Village should be a good game in the next round.

That doesnt even make sense.
Judging by your previous posts and your reply I would say you're not very bright yourself lad. Nothing wrong with us norries, nothing wrong with the gym either. If you need any help with spelling and grammar let me know i might be able to help you out.

I think you can sign with 3 but only play for two so no rules being broke

He played for Castleview junior MSL team so if had signed for Glenthorn then he’s there for the year.

I’d rather an old Fintan Forde than a lot of the youngfellas playing in the premier division, hope you can turn a corner up there with the team goal, some handy players there, Rome wasn’t built in a day

Surley johnny cooney would not of let this happen unless it was done above his head, suley the aul will come down hard on both gratten and glenthorn if this is 100% true or is Harsh ref telling little white lies

No lies Mr Village 100% true plus I told ye last week this was happening and lads on here said not a chance Aul can do nothing at all nothing wrong done here the Boy is entitled to play where he wants one thing I willl say tho great signing but I think Grattan need to sign defenders the backline a disaster and with Adam and bully up top their very strong as it is fair play to um they got their man

Great signing for Grattan, they still need a couple more in my opinion. Hopefully young Murray can teach you about grammar and punctuation.

Read that on Facebook sad to see but they will always have the problem cause pitch can’t be closed off over being a park and DR agree pitches hard but groundsmen will do well to line um haha

19/09/2025, 12:21 PM
Such a shame for both teams using those pitches.

Groundsmen might be thinking if a pitch gets damaged today it'll take weeks to repair

Dry again next week, grass is still growing if we see games called off this early we might as well throw our hat at it.

Fairfield is sad situation, great amenity with the lights added to footpaths around it. Has a big grass bank they could drive the bikes on.

Anyone involved on here set up a go fund me and I’d be happy to donate to try get the pitch repaired assume council would be no help

Corey Galvin a big signing for Castleview from Rockmount.
Tristan Foley on the scoresheet for Glenthorn. Very good player could be their main man this season.

Seems there are some very big players in the AUL this season Corey Galvin included.
Would a representative team not be a good move nowadays?

Ballwasthere
19/09/2025, 9:28 PM
The AUL won’t do it pal, got told by a lad involved with running a team who went to last years AGM that they said they don’t have the money for it, which is farcical as far as explanations go, we currently have the reigning champions of the MJC and arguably the best side in the country currently in the league and some very good players at other clubs, including two who would easily make the team playing tonight in Galvin and Lamanov, but Conlan doesn’t want to dip into his pocket

The assumption is though that the best players actually want to play in it. CBSLs best players turned down the chance to play last year. Would players play extra games.

The coachford lads at the very least seem like they just want to win and win and win, I think they’d play if Donal was made manager

That could be said for every other league that enters also.
It’s up to a manager to get guys on board and playing well for him.
The players being there to begin with is the hard part and that’s already the case to be fair.

I wouldn’t have said that 3 or 4 years back, not that there weren’t great players there just this year there seems to be a huge number of top players spread out along with one amazing side to create a core from.

fruice
20/09/2025, 7:43 AM
For my opinion you need the Coachford boys on board and i would think the last thing they would want is another team to play with.

Some of their top lads are going full tilt all year round as play football and hurling and are going well there also
The last thing they want is another team especially one that means travelling all over to play with.

The body can only take so much.

meballs
20/09/2025, 8:37 AM
Completely understand that & it’s a solid point. Surely the best players in the other leagues play other sports also though yet they put a team out.

Pick a position and nominate a player for that position in an AUL select just assume a 4-4-2 lads. Be interesting to see whos nominated.

Goalkeeper, not sure maybe Murphy with Knocka
Back 4 Kiniry Mark Murphy Scoops Bradley
Midfield 3 Adam Murphy Zack McCarthy Vinny lonergan
Front 3 Casey, Lamanov, Cialan o Sullivan

Just off the top of my head lads, few heads like Galvin, Bullman etc all more than capable of playing as well, good problem to have, but again all purely hypothetical

Harsh ref

Keeper chippy Graham Murphy
Back three Murphy coachford scoops Grattan Chris akibage Knocka

It was well know last year that grangevales players warent involved cos their manager ad the hump hewasn't picked to do it.
After the mess the ballyphehane manager made of it (including playing himself), they have gone heavy with grangevale involvement this year.
Be interesting to see if many of the cows players play.

Yeah I found it strange when he was playing himself in a representative team. Surely someone would come along on the day instead of that.
Not like he was the greatest player to begin with either.

Half the team they picked didn't show up on the day and stayed in the pub watching a game.
