On the bench in the Bernabeu tonight. Yet to make his debut for Arsenal but not his first time on the bench.
Making good progress since losing to UCD while on loan at Sligo last year. Maybe one to keep an eye on. English-born, but parents from Mayo and Leitrim, and you can really tell

He played 80 minutes for their U21s on Monday, so I'm surprised to see him on the bench tonight
If he doesn't come on tonight, Arsenal are playing Ipswich away on Sunday, could easily make his debut there

4-1 up with 20 to go. If it stays that way into injury time, might be a nice time-wasting sub - give the kid a boost

It builds character. It should be on the CV of every Irish international.
Honours and Achievements
- lost to UCD away on a Tuesday night in the Leinster Senior Cup.

FAI Cup I'll have you know!
I think it was the same match where Sligo had two of the New Zealand team that ended Stephen Kenny's reign in November
Some scalp, that

A lot of articles saying his parents are Irish-born, from Mayo and Leitrim.
Looks like a few pieces - including Sligo Rovers release when he joined them - reference "his parent's Mayo and Leitrim heritage." But then the line is "his parents are from Mayo and Leitrim" on other sites, including his Wikipedia (which then is liked to an article using the heritage line).
Could he be 3g as opposed to 2g or is there another source I've missed?

Reading between the lines I'd say it's grandparents that were born in Ireland. Not that we're likely to be facing massive competition for the lad's services in any case, it's nice that he's made the Arsenal bench a few times, but he's overage for the Under 21s and realistically he needs to get out and play more senior football at whatever level he can get it.
I would see him as quite a different case to Jack Moorhouse who is two years younger and might possibly have some top level potential. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I suspect Henry-Francis is probably more of a Conor Henderson level of player in terms of potential.

Probably, but some of those come good a little later. Not England-good - at least not often - but Ireland-good.

Moorhouse surely likely to get gametime for Man United in Premiership now that they are in the Europa League at least until 8 May. That will be interesting if he does.
From Amorim's comments post game I'd say he'll likely make his debut. Said something alone the lines of the kids will need to play as they gotta give preference to Europe.

Henry-Francis has had awful injury problems. Generally that means he won't reach his potential and won't become an international. Occasionally that just means you'll get a late bloomer...
Released by Arsenal along with 20 others. League Two clubs sniffing around.

Has signed for Shels. Some come down from being on the bench in a Champions League semi three months ago!
I don't know do we close the thread now or what? :p

Well, I suppose he'll still be playing Champions League...might be one of the quickest journeys from the latter stages of the Champions League to the preliminary rounds there has ever been.

I believe that deal was almost agreed a few days before Duffer left and Duff leaving made it unlikely. I guess winning the first round probably improved the financial situation and also made it more likely for him that they would go further in Europe.

Yeah just shows how tough making it as a professional is. Must be so difficult to have spent over 10 years at arsenal obviously been a standout all the way up the age groups and then end up at shels

Nick Hornby wrote something similar in Fever Pitch about Gus Caesar when he suffered a similar fate at Arsenal (though Caesar made it further with the first team than Henry-Francis did).

Probably what Caesar is best known for now. That bit made it into the film too.
Always reminds of a Ken Early article that has the line "you have to work incredibly hard to be an average football player"
