ATHLONE TOWN: Tookover Bealnamulla a very successful club based near Athlone. Bealnamulla/Athlone Town now play in the famous Nerazzuri strip of the Midlanders and have numerous National Underage Cup titles to their name.
BOHEMIANS: Took over Elm Mount in 1994 and ran as a team until the early part of the Noughties. Were based in Kilbarrack for the last couple of seasons of their existence but more or less disintegrated when their best player had a baby.
BRAY WANDERERS; Took over TEK United's Women's team in 2003. They currently play in the Premier A Division of the Dublin Women's Soccer League.
COBH RAMBLERS: Member of the Cork Ladies League for the past 5 years or so.
CORK CITY: Still in the stone age no women's team. :D
DERRY CITY: Formed a Women's team in 2002 and applied to join the Inishowen Ladies League.
DROGHEDA UNITED: About to take over one of the Women's soccer clubs based in the town..., will keep you posted on developments.
DUBLIN CITY: Have a women's team which plays in the Premier A Division of the Dublin Women's Soccer League. One of their club officials is a poster here in foot.ie
DUNDALK: A sister club called Dundalk City Ladies is based in Oriel Park and wear the famous Lilywhite strip of their big brother club. Coached by ex- Shelbourne, St.James's Gate, Glenavon and Monaghan United goalkeeper Tommy Tasker they were beaten in the W.F.A.I. Cup final last season. Are in the Premier Cup Final this year and in a play-off for second place against Peamount United.
FINN HARPS: A sister club is in existence Finn Valley Ladies. The new stadium in Stranorlar is going to be home to Finn Harps. Was originally also going to be home to Finn Valley Athletics club and the Finn Valley Ladies Soccer team as well. Remains to be seen if that will pan out.
GALWAY UNITED: Another club in the same situation as Cork City
KILDARE COUNTY; Have no women's team as such. But host club Newbridge Town do.
KILKENNY CITY: Do not have a women's team in spite of their being a vibrant Women's League in the County. Evergreen the leading Non-League soccer club in the city have the most successful team in the Women's League down there.
LIMERICK F.C. Had a strong women's team for a couple of seasons in the late 1990's which didn't last long. A strong League based in the city and surrounding areas including teams from North Kerry, North Tipperary, Clare and what would be known politically as the Limerick East constituency has been running for decades now.
LONGFORD TOWN; The Town have a team playing in the Midlands Ladies League which is run by the Leinster Football League. It runs in the winter just like the LFL.
MONAGHAN UNITED: No Women's team but then there are none anywhere in the County or Cavan either for that matter.
ST.PATRICK'S ATHLETIC; Took over the O'Connell Chics Club in 1996 and saw their Women's team win the Premier Division of the Dublin Women's Soccer League in 1997. Had two teams for many years but imploded at Senior level in 2001. Entered some underage teams in the Dublin Women's Soccer League in 2004 and are slowly rebuilding.
SHAMROCK ROVERS: Took over Castle Rovers in 1996 who had won the Premier League title in 1995 and 1996. They regained the title in 1998 and won the League in 1999,2000, 2001 and 2002. Are rebuilding at adult level currently finished 4th in the Division this year, but have two underage teams based in Tallaght in 2005.
SHELBOURNE:Took over Welsox in 1995 and lasted until 2002. Currently not in Women's football but may return in future years once their eventual location is sorted out .
SLIGO ROVERS: Do not have a team at present but their is an active Women's League in Sligo/Leitrim.
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN: First played Trinity in 1967. Were beaten finalists in the first two Inter-varsities Cup finals in 1983 and 1984 and finally entered non-Colleges football in 2002. Secured a W.F.A.I. Cup success in their debut season at that level and have won three in a row to date.
Have just completed a three in a row Dublin Womens Soccer League Premier titles( 2003/4/5) and are commecing their defence of the Cup title on Saturday.
WATERFORD UNITED: No Women's team as such however a club wearing Blue and White, based in the city and using the RSC, called Benfica are celebrating their 40th Anniversary this season.
They have had a lot of success at National level winning the Womens FAI Cup 5 times.
