Irish bar in Copenhagen?

Bit of an odd one here. I've just found out I'll be in Copenhagen for the weekend of the Cyprus game. Anyone know of a decent pub that will be showing the game?

Kennedys is a bit of a journey away from town about 15-20 mins walk. Staff are friendly but the place is no bigger than a toilet. There's few other pubs near it but there's a strip-club a few doors down the street.

There's two irish pubs on the main shopping street ("Stroget"): the Dubliner and the Irish Rover. Both are quite expensive - due to their location, but there will be a decent crowd in both.

There's another place called the Globe. Its in town as well but hard to find if you dont know you whereabouts. Not to sure if the Globe will be showing the Cyprus match.

Plenty TV's, decent food and usually good craic for the football.

Can't remember ever watching a game in there.
Usually just had music.
If you ask in the Dubliner they'll tell you how to get there.


If you're interested in something local while you're there, may I suggest the Elephant and Mouse. It's not easy to find but if you go up stairs, they have a wooden elephants head and the Carlsberg Elephant Beer comes out the trunk. Be careful on the stairs back down though. ;)

I'd definitely recommend the Globe (http://www.the-globe.dk/). (Its not that difficult to find- just get to Nørreport station and you're only around the corner). They'll be showing the game on the big screen, which isn't necessarily guaranteed in every irish pub in town, especially with Denmark, Norway and Sweden all playing at the same time. Needless to say you want to get there as early as you can!

I lived in Copenhagen for the summer and watched a few of the world Cup games in 1998. We watched the England V Argentina there and it was full of English supporters.

The pub decided to play this rebel song about the IRA sending arms to Argentina during the Falklands War. Bit of a strange one but we had a good laugh in the pub anyway esp when Batty missed.

I was in copenhagen for ireland v isreal and tried to watch the match in the Dubliner, the (irish) barman was pretty ignorant an told the group of us we could watch 10 mins of it and then it was being changed over to the Denmark Match, we ended up watching the first half on a small tv by the stairs with no sound, headed to the irish rover for the rest.

i reckon you should try the globe!

Irish Pubs are pricey enough at the best of times, so definitely exchange money when you get here!

Yeah, Irish pubs are generally a nightmare. I can remember trying to watch Ireland and Russia in Prague in 2002, the Irish pubs were showing an England friendly FFS!! Anyway, the local price worked out at about 50 cents. The Irish pubs were charging Irish prices, about 10 times the local ones! Shocking stuff. See you there anyway. What's Copenhagen like, good craic?

It's a nice enough place but not much going on.
They're boring old shítes!
Most of the craic will be in the Irish bars.

They're not the worst in the world, and they're good football people, so it's usually a bit of craic when they're playing.

I enjoyed myself so much that I'm suffering from that mythical ailment - the two day hangover. I was in a bar called the Windsor on Friday night and left it at after 10am, the place was still buzzing. I suspect that the entire clientele was on something other than alcohol, though, a dodgy bunch! The Globe seemed nice, I would have stayed longer but had to get back to meet someone. It's certainly nicer than the Irish Rover or the Dubliner, that's for sure. I was then in some pub called the Happy Pig in English. The Danes like their booze alright, everyone seemed fairly buckled.
