Bohs hoping for new signings
28/09/2005 - 10:17:17
Bohemians are hoping to sign Longford Town’s Barry Ferguson and Drogheda United striker Declan O’Brien for the start of next season.
Defender Ferguson and O’Brien have become manager Gareth Farrelly’s main targets for next season as he looks to continue rebuilding the team.
However, unlike previous years, financial constraints mean that his options are severely limited making part-time Ferguson and O’Brien – who is keen to return to part-time football – attractive options.
O’Brien has been linked with a move to Bohemians before and it could happen this winter although signing Ferguson may prove harder as the defender was on the receiving end of plenty of abuse from Bohemians supporters last week when he was a spectator at the Gypsies clash with Drogheda.
If the move for Ferguson fails, Farrelly is likely to turn his attention to Kevin Doherty who is currently on loan at Waterford United from Shelbourne.
