This thread should be up in the League section under Junior and not hiding below in General discussions.

Also does anyone have the results of the first round of WFAI senior Cup

Also the tag line should be changed from "Fruit-based drink for the lady" to the future is feminine "Drat no spellchecker"

Someone pointed out in the setup thread that there isn't actually a women's league. Is that right or wrong?

The First round takes place this weekend.
I know UCD travel to the Desmond League on Saturday evening.

Does anyone know K/o time for this match or has it been played yet?

THanks

It hasn't been played yet. Most of the games are taking place the weekend of the 9th of October. UCD play in West Limerick this coming Saturday however. Benfica are already in the Quarter-finals as Roscommon League were unable to field a team cause most of the players play " Bogball"

I'd leave it down here. This forum could be used to discuss the Women's game in general like international championships.

Speaking of which Scotland drew 0-0 with the Republic of Ireland Women in the 2007 World Cup Group Qualifier in McDiarmuid Park in Perth last Sunday.
Also last weekend World Cup holders, European Champions and Olympic Silver medallists Germany whacked Russia 5-1 also in our group.

Didn't Russia whack us earlier? Is the result with Scotland a good one?

There's no national league. There are a number of regional leagues. The only national competition is the WFAI Cup, which is why the winners of that get into Europe.

Yes we lost 6-1 in Moscow. However it must be pointed out that this is our first campaign among the Elite group of European nations. We can now theoretically qualify for European Championships and World Cups. Options which no previous Irish squad have had. However the trick is to remain among the elite nations this time around and build on it.

The last time Scotland played us in competitive games we were beaten 3-0 both at home and away, so yes this is a good result.

How do end up getting relegated from the Elite? Can we avoid it? Was this the 2nd game of the campaign for the girls in green?

Yes it was the second game and by finishing second last in the Group we can avoid being relegated or facing a play-off to avoid relegation.
