Probably a poor Premiership week but pitiful figures for them all the same. Cork City game had to compete with couple of other matches on tv whereas Premiership highlights have no sporting competition.

Might be a stupid question but anyway .. how do they tally it .... what makes a viewing figure ?? i.e. if you are flicking through the channels and stop on something for literally five seconds, is that a figure ?? or do you have to watch it start to finish ??

How do the add it up .... is it a cross section of the viewing public and then fill in the blanks, i.e. they survey a 1000 people and add in the rest based on that ??

Man Utd and Man Utd highlights still beat Cork.

A good viewing figure none the less.

If European football beats Premiersh1t maybe just maybe there is a glimmer of hope for the nation.

I presume they have a sample group of people that have some sort of receiver box that records what was watched? You couldn't survey people as be hard to remember what you viewed.

I think figures done for average viewing across the whole programme & also in 15 minute intervals to get the peak figure.

136k not as good as could have been for City game but would have cost RTE little to transmit as got picture from Czech TV.
