Bit late in the day for a thread, admittedly, but feel free to add your club's offerings here! Kerry have announced that they're switching suppliers from New Balance to Macron:

I like our new home jersey now the sponsor is smaller and the crest isn't on the sleeve!! We are due an away jersey after having the same one last two years. I take it we'll keep the Bluestack Foundation kit as 3rd jersey

Not sure about that, be a lovely harps t shirt but I prefer a plainer team kit.
We’ve at last started back to a less busy kit, bout time too says i

Not a fan of the black at the top, and moulding into the blue. But that's just personal (bad) taste.

We are supposedly playing St. Mochtas in a Leinster Senior Cup game on Monday.
No advertisement of it on the club website, that I can see.
And no new kit yet by the looks of it either!
I'm all for retro kits but our one celebrating the anniversary last season was horrendous, so I hope we actually do have a new kit coming.

Yeah have to agree with you on that town jersey it was a disgraceful cheap effort Town Legend. It was mentioned in the Longford Leader in the town notes this week about the Mochtas game.
I am not going to make any further comment on this as there does be spies lurking ere.

Calling the kit disgraceful is a bit much, everyone can have an opinion on it and like it or dislike it but it was based on the kit of 100 years ago. Personally I didn't like the broken up black stripe, I felt it should have just been a plain black stripe across the middle like 100 years ago but it was obviously an attempt to put a modern twist on things. The collar and gold trim was lovely.

As far as I'm aware, there is a new kit coming out but why it has been left so late I'm not so sure.

As for Mondays game I remember running a bus to a LSC semi final in 2014 in Dublin and 24 hours before I still had no idea where the game actually was I was taking names and telling people look the game will be somewhere in Dublin I just don't know where or what time. The LFA organize this competition it's notoriously tin pot, sure remember Dundalk were chucked out last year and then eventually let back in, this kind of stuff goes on every year, the club obviously haven't got full confirmation yet that the game is 100% going ahead hence why nothing has been made public.

Personally I've been disappointed with the lack of excitement during the off season but this just appears to be where the club is financially at the moment, we can't compete like we did a few years ago, I've kind of just accepted that for now and just pray we still have a club in another 10 years as negative as that may sound

I think you are right about the hoop.
It would have looked far better with the solid hoop instead of the designed one.

The more retro the better these days, everyone loves a throwback, I'd even have been in favor of a few laces across the neck

Presumably this is just training gear, rather than what the new home jersey will look like, but a nice creative use of the green and gold!

Agree with you there. I'd also prefer a bit more gold in the home kit and a lot more green in the away kit personally.

Athlone Town are going back to black and blue stripes.

The big question is why they went away from it in 2024. They wore the most generic black home and white away kits ever.

Because they are Valeo's colours.

Good spot. Any idea why they have gone back to Athlone's traditional colours?

No idea, I do laugh at club's thinking a simply change of colours is going to undo years of sh*te community relations.

Cant stand our kit this year. Imo is just a really cheaply produced item. The sky blue training gear is awful aswell. That aside our new deal with Elverys has gone well and their shop on the fonthill road near Liffey Valley is well stocked and we have prominent position.

It would appear Longford Town do indeed have a new kit this season. Similar to some of our signings, it's gotten out ahead of any official announcement https://www.sportsfile.com/id/3036191/
Looks nice enough in my opinion. And I hope this is the year where the yellow is finally dropped from our away kits

Thats a class looking jersey! Thats a Macron template so wouldnt be suprised if new away jersey is yellow with blue stripes on it.

I assumed maybe it's just a placeholder for that launch event and that the final jersey that goes on sale and that will have the sponsor. Do we actually not have a sponsor for the front for the season?

It's gorgeous. The bang of Universitario from i is something fierce: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Universitario_de_Deportes

That said, it's absolutely highlighted again, how Sligo need to tidy up the club badge. All the elements are there, they just don't need all of them there at the same time.

I agree it looks perfectly good as it is. It's more so *why* there isn't a sponsor there. Is the Bishopsgate sponsorship on the way out or what. That's my worry with it

From what I was told Bishopsgate didnt want to sponsor the jersey anymore but why do they want to sponsor the stadium though?

Longfordian
09/02/2025, 5:21 PM
I imagine the stadium is the more valuable in terms of exposure. To the extent that there is any exposure at the bottom of the First Division. Phil Munnelly who owns Bishopsgate, and owned City Calling before that, has been a loyal sponsor for a long time so while it's disappointing if he can't/won't continue you can't be too critical. As far as I can recall the last time we had no main sponsor was the start of the 2000/2001 season before Flancare came on board.

I've made a noise in work which should've landed me in trouble.
Only question I have is how this is going to work in conjunction with the new alcohol labelling laws which are in effect - this is surely considered as advertising? Perhaps the players jersey will be blank?

I took this from citizens information

"On a sports field, playing surface or other playing area during a match or competition (this does not include the stadium or hoarding around a sports pitch, or what players are wearing)"

https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/justice/criminal-law/criminal-offences/alcohol-and-the-law/

It seems once it's not on the playing surface it's fine. They also don't have a kids version of this jersey available from the looks of things

I agree! Throw-back all the way. Spotted someone over the summer in a retro Furstenberg Waterford top. The Bohs one reminds me of CCFC straight away. The (oul) Bass triangle would be a perfect fit in lots of ways.

You have to give Bohs credit - they know what they're doing when it comes to making and marketing a shirt. And fair play to them. There'll be tourists tripping over themselves to be seen going around in one of these.

I know it's straws in the wind, but this sort of stuff really does make me think the LOI is right on the cusp of becoming mainstream and even big-time in Ireland. I'd love to see what sort of crowds we could get this season if capacity wasn't an issue at any grounds.

P.S. A shame that Guinness couldn't have similarly stepped forward and used their marketing etc muscle when St James's Gate FC was on the verge of going out of existence a couple of seasons ago.
