I just got a confirmation email saying that I have Ryder Cup Tickets. Its a huge 480 off the credit card but it should be worth it.

where do you apply?

There was a lottery type thing but it closed in July and they told successful people yesterday. It was very poorly advertised so I think most people that applied were successful.

I got 2 tickets this morning but i'm one of the lucky ones.

There was only something like 8000 tickets in the lottery and with UK and USA applying by lottery too I doubt if every irish applicant was succesful.

32,000 tickets are for corporate and package deals with the majority going to US and UK as they will bring a lot of money into the country as you can imagine. That was what people were told at the recent open forum for the ryder cup in the K CLub.

Watch the b&bs up the prices for this. Eddie Hobbs would have a field day!

Kildare tourism are urging the hospitality sector not to do this as this is a once in a lifetime chance to show ireland off on the big sporting stage and if people left with the feeling of being ripped off it will damage future tourism and the prospect of getting this again.

I think irish fans will be in a minority at this which is disgraceful.
Then again we are pretty good at scrounging tickets from somewhere so you never know.

You're right on that count - we always manage to pull tickets from somewhere. I've heard of a good few people being successful with the lottery so I think there will be enough Irish there to make some noise.

My old man got tickets too - I haven't heard of anyone being refused yet and everyone I know that applied got them.

I have a mate in the UK and he got 2 sunday tickets while his brother
got sat/sun packages as well.

Looks like I was wrong as it seems a lot of people who applied are getting them.

Would love to see the breakdown though on where all the tickets ended up.

With 40,000 tickets for the 3 days I think it should be
Ireland 20,000
USA 10,000
Rest of Europe 10,000

..in a dreamworld maybe!!!

I heard that its 30,000 a day for the 3 days making 90,000. Could be wrong though.

I still haven't heard of anyone that applied not getting tickets so it all looks good.

You are right. Everyone in my family applied and has been succesful so far except one person out of 5 of us so looks like the lottery will work out well for whoever applied.

I got an email from the organisers saying that I was charged in Sterling instead of Euro by mistake but they've done a repayment.

Doesn't sound very well organised.

Still no response although I did get confirmation of my application back in July. Not looking good.

Just looking on ebay and a pair of tickets for Saturday are selling for almost €1300. I have a pair for Saturday and Sunday - pretty tempting considering I've just had to fork out over €6k for a course and I'm broke.
