Did anyone see the match report on the Bray game in the Irish Times on Saturday? Said Hurley is an up & coming young player that's making waves & being noticed. Writer also mentioned that being from Arklow they couldn't understand how he slipped by Bray.

Personally I think he's a great player but he's a real confidence player. His long range shooting ability is excellent & his tackling is well hard. Beginning in the middle, where he was quite good, his move to the right didn't start too well but I think he's really improved on the wing too.

Totally solid & quality midfield player now & defo one for the futute of Irish football. Alas, like Dicker, Quigley, Murphy & even Martin he might be on the way at seasons end. Please Steven, don't leave us....

You know, I actually can't see any room for him in the team if all are fit. My first choice centre mid is Tony Mac and Dicker and first choice right wing is Gannon. Hurley has great potential. He's a bit stronger than Dicker but not quite as good with the footwork and his passes can be a bit sloppy. I don't think he's actually done enough this season to even see someone to come in and take him. If anything it would be Dicker to be snapped up and he'd step up into the team alongside Tony Mac. Have we ever seen a Tony Mac/Hurley combination in the middle? It always seems to be Tony/Dicker or Dicker/Hurley (which is not a good combo in my opinion). It's funny, I pointed out to Schumi early yesterday that against Pat's in the 3-2 game in Richmond that a Dicker/Hurley combo was useless in the 1st half and we were totally overrun. Now last week in Bray the same combo controlled the game. I thought as a partnership they had come of age, but last night shows they have some way to go.
