Now I not 100% sure if he's Injured cause can't find anythin on the net.

But does anyone else think Gordon Strachan is freezing out McGeady because he choose Ireland? He doesnt seem to be figuring at all under strachan since the start of the season he was making the squad at least but doesnt seem to be any more, as Strachan never hid the fact of his dipleasure in McGeady Choosing Ireland over Scotland.

On Skysports.com it shows McGeadys stats for this season and they dont look good if he's to try and break into the Irish Senior Squad.

Whats anybody else think?

He's not freezing him out. He just hasn't showed a whole load of progress since early last season.

everybody built him up to be some kind of savioue.

Kevin Doyle is more worthy of a place in the Ireland squad than him.

totally agree about Mac gready. everyone said he was god because he did a few flicks and tricks. That wont win you any games at the top level.

He played well against AC Milan in the Champions League.

I think he lacks pace. That's what is going to stop him being world class.

I seem to remember Strachan was full of praise for McGeady when he took over and he started in the champs league match where Celtic were embarrassed. Don't think he's played since.

He played every pre-season game, the first champions league game and the first SPL game. Got dropped after the SPL game.

Very poor player from what I've seen. Great ball control, but no end product. Total show pony who's proved absolutely nothing. Wait til he actually does something.

I wouldn't say no end product. 5 goals and 11 assists in 25 starts last season. 1 assist from 1 league start this season. 1 assist from 1 reserve match this season.

When he's on form he could win you a match single handedly. If this was someone else posting there'd be a completely different tone to my post but I seen how bias has f*cked up your head. :) If you can make a mockery of the Milan defence single handedly you have something special. Nesta went up to McGeady after that game and gave him his shirt (without McGeady asking) and just praised his performace. Maldini went into the Celtic dressing room to talk to him after the match.

He's one of the few players in the world that has no preferred foot. He takes corners with either foot. At the moment he's going through a bad patch but when he's on form he's a joy to watch.

Lack of form is the only reason.

i can remember strachan and i think it was alan hanson also saying that it was a disgrace that he was playing for ireland and 2 that it was a disgrace that the scottish FA let him slip thru their fingers

Have to agree with that. Fantastic on his day but hasn't showed much this season. He's still young so he can hopefully find his feet again. Worrying though...

I suppose he knows a good bit as he won so many championships and he was captain of a very successful winning side and know what it takes to win lots of major trophies. I think that comment will hang around his neck for a long time but there are lots of pundits that have said far worse things. I always think one of the most stupid comments was by Gabby Yorath who said that if Milan can score 3 goals in the 1st half why cant LIverpool do it the 2nd. The 2nd half proved her to be right but it was still and ill informed and stupid comments.

He's one of the few players in the world that has no preferred foot. He takes corners with either foot. Like Lubo Moravcik used to do. What a joy to watch him too. Does anyone remember a goal he scored against Hibs from 35 yards (against Nick Colgan I think) with his left? The ball didn't even twitch in the air. Spectacular. Add in his headed goals in an Old Firm game & you really had the complete set of skills.

For all McGeady's skills his final ball needs to be worked on.

Sure everyone has bad games. I don't think his talent can be questioned, his consistency is another matter.

Still no logic really Pablo, sure I've seen every top player have a stinker and it doesn't make me doubt their quality. McGeady can still come good, I'm sure like most players it's probably just a confidence issue.

That wasn't difficult to be fair. Well I assume you are talking about Irish players they were all pretty much muck :D

He's a skillful lad, who can change a game, he's obviously very young and confidence is a key factor especially at this early stage of his career. He'll hopefully come good though.

What games were they? France is one, 4 more. His game against France was poor but every game he has played this season has been pretty poor by his standards. I can't believe an Irish person would be biased against McGeady because of the club he plays for. Or maybe its because he's keeping Kearney out of the team? And don't say you aren't being biased, its pretty obvious. Also, there are very few people who would have seen McGeady play 5 poor games and none good.

Especially at U21 level. On his debut against Bulgaria he set up 2 goals and was apparantly by far and away the best player on the pitch. Involved in everything:

I was at match last Night, McGeady was Phenomonal!! he is so naturally talented..
http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=16786&highlight=bulgaria+mcgeady

2nd game was against Cyprus:

Exceptional performance by McGeady tonight for the U21s. He shouldnt have too much trouble making the transition to Senior level judging by this perfomance. He turned the Cyriots inside out and made use of the ball everytime. His service was top notch and created a few chances for himself. Was a class apart. Willo Flood, Glenn Whelan, Paddy McCarthy and Kevin Doyle were well worth a mention also.

http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=17270&highlight=cyprus+mcgeady

No thread on the Switzerland game but McGeady was fouled in the box and scored from the resulting penalty.

He was apparantly the only Irish player to play well in Israel (according to an Israeli on soccer central who was at the game). Also this:

Was at the game and we were dire, McGeady apart, I can't see anyone from this team making it as a senior player in the top division in England let alone making the move up to the seniors.

And back home to Ireland for the return against Israel:

McGeady gave a masterclass on the wing. Had their left back - who was sent off late-on for two yellows - in his pocket the whole night.

His last game for the U21's was against France which he played poor in. Drop the bias ffs.
