RTE website (http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/)

When click on Soccer you default to english & maybe CL football & eL is packed away in its own "irish" section.

Newstalk have a football hour on the radio but irish football doesn't quality & is packed away in its own thursday night & saturday afternoon slot.

Does this happen for any other sport?

Well i suppose they are giving the majority of people what they want! because lets face there is more interest in the premiership than there is in the EL. However even saying this I beleive EL should be RTEs' priority footballing wise being a state broadcaster

I accept more interest in other football but just wondering why we "different".

Even fixtures in the newspapers put the eL on its own & not allowed mix with UK & Europe - some papers include Scottish 3rd division in normal section & eL stuck in corner.

I think to be honest, that the page in RTE you link to (which is the default 'soccer' page) just carries the main stories of the day and these are mostly English, Scottish, European or International. It does carry Irish eL stories when they appear (like after Friday night games, or after European results) but these stories are less numerous.

Most of the stories would come off the wire, and TBH there aren't that many eL stories on the wire to begin with!

But I do agree in principle with your argument. Like RTE news should read the eL results before they read the Premiersh*t.

Slightly off topcic.

Just noticed a few weeks ago that eircom have started advertising the league on their telephone bills.

RTÉ were showing their ads for the "autumn" TV season and the eircom League came before the Premiership and CL.
