Eh....I don't know. They're both real funny. I think Family Guy's more special cos they don't show it as much and the humour's a bit more grown up.

Plus, Stewey is the funniest cartoon character ever!

Simpsons for the sheer amount of brilliant episodes. Why pick though?

Simpsons, Family Guy and Futurama are slightly better then south park imo, but I won't choose just one!

Has to be the Simpsons, they can still knock out the laughs after all these years. Family Guy runs them very close though!

Nowadays id say family guy without a doubt. The simpsons was excellent (homer is a legend!) but I think The simpsons has burned out long ago, (all the stupid comparison jokes) i think it started really running out of ideas when the episode with principal skinner/arman Tanzarian was shown. But Family guy is one hell of a show!

It's gotta be Family Guy. The Random Humour element is much better than what you get from the Simpsons.

Simpsons nowhere near as good as it was 6-10 years ago,all the best episodes are from that period (Hank Scorpio etc.).Family Guy pushing it VERY close at this stage, might just go for The Simpsons over it though!

From that list it goes

Simpsons back in the day when it was good -> modern South Park episodes -> Family Guy -> Futurama -> Older South Park episodes -> Being punched in the face -> new Simpsons episodes.

So Thye Simpsons, I suppose.

Nothing can touch the Simpsons that were being made up until about 1996. In my opinion the standard started to decline after that and at this stage I think that it is very poor, and bares little resemblence to the original 6/7 series of the Simpsons.

I think that Futurama is superb, very close to the standard of the best Simpsons and I hope it comes back one day.

I like Family Guy, crap animation etc, and is very inconsistent, but it is a good comedy.

So, IMHO, best animated comedy ever is the Simpsons, the best animated comedy currently being made (and judging by the latest episodes) is Family Guy, and the best animated comedy of the last decade is Futurama! ;)

One thing that Futurama has over Family Guy is that there are proper stories in each episode and not just thread-bare excuses to go from one joke to the next.

South Park is very good too, but is behind the other 3.

In saying all that, I have all the Futuama and Family Guy DVD box-sets, and not the Simpsons. I'll defo get the first few series when they are going cheap in the sales again though.

EDIT: One criticism of the Simpsons I have now is that it is nearly getting to the stage where it has been poor longer than it has been great.

It's like asking who do you hate more Bush Jnr or Bush Smr, Jnrr is certainly more evil than his father but if it was not for his father he wouldn't be here.... ah Bill hicks, what fun he would be having.

Family Guy but lifetime achievement award to the Simpson’s.

the simpsons is the best because its so well written , but family guy can be watched over and over again and its still funny .
futurama doesnt come close , and south park is right up there but as with the simpsons they have gone off the boil abit its more about slagging of celebs now like the paris hilton one or getting big names like the simpsons had tony blair etc .

i got a few episodes of american dad it s the new show from the guys who made family guy its hillarious ,

I'll have to go for the simpsons, so many great characters to entertain, with Homer standing proudly at the top..

New family guy series (series 4) started over here last night. There was a new simpsons episode too. Just to show how much the simpsons has grown up with us, last nights episode was Homer owed the mafia money which he couldn't repay. They agreed to let him off if they could shoot a porn movie in his house!!!

It's funny the way the Simpsons and South Park have gone in opposiate directions. South Park started off as cheap humour and ended as brilliant and cleverly written satire, The Simpsons started at brilliant, cleverly written satire and ended up as cheap, sh*te humour.

Has to be the Simpsons.

Family Guy can too subtle & i think many jokes lost of people outside the US.

Have watched South Park a good bit lately & worth tuning in to see just how low can they go. Its good in a very evil way.

Family Guy every single time, really clever, political and plain stupid all at once :)

Peter Griffen is right up there with Homer too: "I wanna have so much money that my kids can get away with anything they want...Just like the Kennedys" :D

Best Peter Griffin line is when he's at a job interview:

Interviewer: So where do you see yourself in five years?
Peter Griffin: (thinking to himself "Don't say doing your wife,Don't say doing your wife..") Doing your,uh,son..?

:D

Did you see the TV shoe one?? Classic.

South Park's kinda political too. Sure they've a character called "Token Black".
