I think a Keane - Kavanagh partnership, though not long term, might be the best option for the rest of the season. Keane - Holland would be my second choice.

Kilbane will always get top marks for effort, maybe try him as an emergency striker rather than Doc and as cover for Duff?

There is something about him i know he is ugly but i still fancy him

Yeah he's loaded. Also I'd hockey Kat Slater and her buffalo wings out of it.

strange to see all the critisicm of kilbane on this thread..
anyway, looked solid on his debut for hull today, should play left back for the rest of his career. he reminds me a bit of a naturally left sided finnan with less ability

What a legend this guy is! Not far off a century of caps for us at this stage, not the most skillful but gives his all. Almost got his head taken off last night in the last few mins. Major respect for the guy. Compare this guy's commitment to his country to a certain other in Manchester.

Kilbane - legend. Finest character to wear the green of his generation.

I think in this case it would be OK to make an exception. I think it makes no sense to re-open a thread after the conversation has died.

FIFA website have a new interview with Killer - video link on the right hand side of the webpage.

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1051310.html#kilbane+targets+irish+century

The interviewer is a bit of a prat but Killer certainly emphasises that he's always been an Ireland fan despite growing up in Preston.

Legend!

I'll never tire of supporting Kilbane. I'd tell him to his face that I wish we had a better left back but I'd also say how proud I'd be as an Irishman in the UK if my kids turned out like him.

Or, as Neil McD would say, I'd be happy for him to babysit.

Find your own babysitter! Killer's mine;)

And I'm glad we don't have a better left back. Where would Kevin play then?

"you made your debut against ireland in 1997". "Playoff against Portugal 2000!" What a donkey. The only time ive ever seen kilbane upset on a pitch was when that georgian a$$hole lobbed a blade at him in Tblisi that time.

The mans a legend. A pity he didnt mention where his parents are from for interest sake.

isn't he an Achill man?

KK a legend full stop and has shown a level of commitment to the Irish shirt that many born in this country have not. Limited player yes, but one i admire very much for his dedication to the cause. I think his parents are from the west alright, am embarassed to actually remember this but wasnt there a guy called James Kilbane (from Achill) in one of those Eurosong/your a star competitions a while back and he was related to Killer.

Junior
27/04/2009, 3:26 PM
He's Achill Island alright. Kilbane is a very popular name on the island. Killer (and James the singer - correct elroy) are both distant relatives of mine on my mothers side.

If you think we're gonna start passing off legend remarks on you now just because youre related to Kilbane youre mistaken.

Ah go on then just one. Legend.

"..Its been an honour to make almost 1,600 posts..........."

The wife keeps telling me not to say that to anyone, she thinks he looks a bit gormless, but I just tell her his dedication to cause gives him legendary status in my eyes, adonis or not!!

Yeah, it was his first cousin. Killer recorded a message of support for him and it was played on the show. Unfortunately he looked and sang a bit like this....

He filled in there briefly against Chile I think. Started at left wing, then left full, then centre half!

.. and played well too in both games according to reports.

A back four of

OShea Dunne Kilbane and Duff

would be the flavour of the moment in keeping with current club selections

The legend was up to his old ways today rampaging through the midfield in place of George Boateng. He has now gone to left back after Richard Garcia replaced the injured Andy Dawson.

First goal in a couple of years for Killer today - free header in the second minute against hapless Burnley.

Hull have their work cut out now if they want to avoid relegation especially as West Ham picked up 3 points.

I see Hunty is still out injured, if they are to have any chance they will need him back fit and on form.

Kilbane took his header well, right place at the right time. He ended up going back to left-back once Dawson was stretchered off.

Not looking good for Hull.

Kilbane sets up the big Dutch fella and then misses two great chances to score. Hull in serious trouble, down 1-0 to Villa at home. McShane having a nightmare.

The first chance was tough but the second one nearly killed me. I was in class watching (on mute, obviously) and when I saw it I let out a grown and had my head in hands. Needless to say I got some weird looks :o. They then felt the need to repeatedly torture me by showing the incident about 10 times over.

Killer has never been the best in front of goal and probably better with the head than the boot.

All the best to Kevin And Paul in their fight for survival against the drop.

Ah it's gone, i always believed if we got that goal, we wouldn't have gotten the next penalty - so either way i held no ill feelings for the killer, although the abuse out of my mouth following that would put ya back into the convents haha

Why did Kilbane pull out of the squad, he has never displayed willingness to play for his country? Always pulling out of squads when it suits....

In future may I suggest:
