I've been reading the fff website every day recently, translating with google. This is what Malouda said today:
"One knows that Ireland has many positives, in particular those of physical engagement and the motivation, like the majority of the British nations."

Henry said something similar yesterday too. Am I the only person that gets a little riled up with this? Its like putting Canada as part of the US.

This all bodes well for us I believe. If the frogs think we play long ball, physical stuff then they are in for a shock, when we push the ball around on the "carpet"....taken that Lansdownes more like a shaggy carpet than a berber...The French fear us, you can see it in their more recent quotes, the closer it gets to the game the more conservative their comments have been. I have been saying for over a week now that we will wqin this game. The French have scored only 8 goals 5 of them against the Faroes. We do not concede a lot of goals, especially at home. LISTEN to me 2-1 to Ireland.

Well when all the players play in Britain, most of the fans support British teams and the manager of the U21 team actively recruits his players for British teams- its hardly a surprise is it? As a nation, we're Irish, but as a footballing nation, to all intents and purposes we're a British nation really.

I'm 99% certain they have been told to say this by Domenech to affect our gameplan. The French know more than anyone how good we can play. They don't think we've changed to long ball overnight.

Less of the "frogs" please Mountie. Other than that, I'm inclined to agree with your argument. Add in a touch of self-belief and defensive organisation and we may well win this game. 1-0 Ireland.

how come it seems nearly all Cork city fans' posts verge on the negative? Jesus lads - cheer up ffs!! I agree with some of your points! Although the players who are pimped by mr Givens havnt exactly been held at gun point!

regarding the whole British Isles thing - from living in France i noticed that a big proportion of French dont know the difference - they can be fairly ignorant towards national differences! Let them at it! We shouldnt worry too much about their stupidity!

The French are notorious for this.

There was an article in the Irish Times recently about how the French seem to be the only ones in the whole of the EU who don't seem to realise that we severed ties in 1922.

One nugget I can vaguely recall that when buying a ticket from the French railways you first keyed in your country of origin before being billed in your own currency. However they had us set up to be billed in Sterling!

One word - arrogance.
