With no PD games this Friday, are any supporters of the elite clubs planning on slumming it this weekend? I might make the trek to Brayrut to see how the other half live. It’s like Non League Day for the LOI.
Athlone vs. Longford - 22.03. 19:45
Bray vs. Wexford - 22.03. 19:45
Cobh Ramblers vs UCD - 22.03. 19:45
Finn Harps vs. Kerry - 22.03. 19:45
Treaty United vs. Cork City - 22.03. 19:45

Poor planning by the FAI not to have UCD at home this weekend. They could have marketed it to the fans of the other Dublin clubs. Bray I suppose is not too far, with the added bonus of a train trip to a league soccer game.

Interesting game for us away to Treaty. We've been relatively comfortable in most of our games without being brilliant really. Only 1 goal conceded which is always great.

What’s the reason for only giving them 350 tickets? There was 4,362 at the league cup final in MF in 2016 and Treaty are averaging just over 2,000 (I’m not knocking that figure by the way, it’s brilliant). It’s strange they’d limit a bigger attendance, even if it means allowing more away fans in, particularly when Cork fans will probably just buy in the home end anyways given the demand is there

Wouldn't want any more than that in that away end

Cork City fans can also avail of the opposite end at the West (Markets Field) end, this is a small grass open terrace for away supporters, if you are able to get tickets.
A crowd of 2,500 is expected, weather permitting.

I actually would be at the Bowl if UCD were at home.

Tough ask for Kerry to pick up points away to Harps, given their current form, but then we've only conceded once in each of our last three games, so certainly not impossible.

Refreshing that Kerry have not moaned about having to travel to Donegal. Would that many Cork fans venture out of Cork to Markets Field?

I believe the away stand has a new cert which has knocked 40 or so off of the capacity of it down to 260. Assume the rest is a section of the grassbank terrace - the popular side.
I don't know the ins and outs but City fans have been troublesome on occasion at the venue with pyro and pitch invasions stopping games temporarily. Maybe that's a factor, maybe not.

That could indeed lead to restricting away capacity even if in theory a lot more could attend.

Completely gone over my aged head that there were 1st division matches on.
Would def have gone to the bowl but bray depresses me tbh between the anti Cabo vibe about the place and general negativity I'll probably watch Cork v treaty on loitv. It's a big game for Cork, chance to firmly stamp themselves as promotion certainties and avoid any nervous nelly jitters

Harps really should really be beating Kerry but I never count my chickens when it come to Harps

They may not want a large Cork crowd turning up and standing on a slippery grass bank after all the rain we have had lately.

There appears to be some sort of bright energy source in the sky today, can anyone advise what this may be?

I don't know, but it scares me. Perhaps we should worship it so it doesn't get angry at us.

Is Treaty vs. Cork the straightforward obvious choice for Premier Division neutrals for LOI TV tonight? Or any argument for Athlone vs. Longford?

Treaty v Cork is the obvious one. Need Treaty to get something to stop Cork running away with the league at least for the present

Has to be the Midlands derby, two clubs that are both over 100 years old. Cork City not much older than Treaty :p

Seen a bit of it in Donegal among all the rain clouds. Its been a weird weather day up here, nearly all four seasons inside the one day.
Bray and Wexford serving up the goods tonight, 3-3 just 5 mins into the second.
Longford tops of the towns, 3 up HT, no goals in the other 3 includ the top of the table clash in Limerick.

And the day after tomorrow on tv tonight..
We’re ****ed.
Sick . 3 up HT and finish 3 3.
Great win for UCD, 2 goals in 90+ in Cobh.
Kerry get point on road, and scoreless also in Limerick.
Wexford win 4 3 in Bray.

Utter rubbish from Harps as we have been last few matches. Plenty of effort but no quality whatsoever. Few half chances about it. If anyone sits deep we find them hard to break down. We are decimated by injuries tbf. We look better away from home

Awful game in Finn park,Kerry well worth their point ,organised and well motivated and got a good point, the less said about us the better, showed absolutely nothing going forward and it’s becoming close to if you shut Success down you shut us down…

What’s the story with Bray? They don’t seem to have progressed at all since Ian Ryan went in there. They have some decent first division players in their squad too

He got rid of about 15 of his own picks from last season’s squad… doesn’t seem to have made a difference though

Really putrid game in Finn Park. To be fair, weather was horrendous for most of the game, and definitely played a part. Kerry came up to play for a draw, and done well, credit where its due. They're hard to break down but Harps were very poor.

Just a couple of years ago there was decent hype around Ryan. Has a manager ever had his reputation turn as quickly as Ryan since taking the Bray job?

Turned it back around with the job he did at Cobh though. Maybe he more so proved that first division is his level rather than turned around actually but still

There is much more substance to Shane Keegan than Ian Ryan because he did a phenomenal job getting a Wexford side promoted, while Ian Ryan got hype for going from 9th best team in the first to about the 5th best.
The Ian Ryan comp is Neale Fenn, lots of hype without actually doing anything

I usually give out a lot about refs but I thought the ref last night was good. No silly cards for the sake of it. Gave a booking for diving which is rare but I enjoyed.

Best refereeing performance in Finn Park in a long time. Couple of iffy enough decisions but overall a very good performance.

Still think they missed a trick not having them play in the Bowl. I’m no expert on Bray’s attendances but they seemed to have gotten a boost last night with over 1000 in attendance for a game against Wexford.

Well deserved point for Treaty last night ,good defending all game and missed the best chance of the match through of all people Curran.Cork played all the football ,neat and tidy but no end product and werent helped by Jack Dohertys no show and his constant efforts to con the ref.Speaking of which thought the ref did a decent job despite the Treaty players snarling around him every five minutes. Some crowd there btw.

Very good defending indeed particularly after the rudderless showing against a much fancied Bray . Treaty played some great football at times and deserved the draw at least . Christophers chance best of game . Cork will only get better . Two best teams I've seen this year but cork well ahead as you would expect . Devitt a loss for next few games and with Conroy out the will struggle. First loss incoming no doubt . Cork lads very clever and reffed the game by putting pressure on him all night .

Hype caused bt surprise at the contract length and wide remit for someone who was unproven at best or a complete chancer. Wasnt near a serious candidate for P6 considering how gullible our mad chairman was!

We should have had it long killed off, it could only happen to us that the opposition keeper would goose himself and it would come back to bite us. Not that annoyed about it, just one of those freak things that happens, we do need a win soon though
