I've updated the permutations table, taking into account the weekend's results. You can see the updated table here - http://members.boards.ie/tetsujin1979/Group4Permutations.html - It's looking really good to be honest, although that one bright red square remaining is troubling.
A draw and win from wednesday's game and the Swiss match in October and we're good to go!

I've also updated the Group 4 spreadsheet, you can get that here - http://members.boards.ie/tetsujin1979/Group4.zip

Cheers for that, make u dizzy thinking of all the permutations. I think ourselves and France will finish joint top on 20 points, and it'll come down to goal difference. I think wednesday will be a draw, and we'll beat Cyprus and CH, as will france..

If we got 2nd possible play off opponents at this stage:-

Romana, Czechs, Turkey, greece, Russia, Slovenia, Norway, Spain, Bosnia, Croatia, Sweden.

Nothing there to frighten the bejesus out of you, wouldn't like to get the czechs mind..

Greece - European Champions
Russia - beat us away and forced a draw at home in the last qualifiers
Spain - knocked us out the last world cup, fantastic qualifying record
Sweden - Larsson, Ibrahimovic, Ljunberg, Mellberg, Kallstrom (one for the Champo Managers there!)
Turkey - Top 6 side in the world, 3rd in the last World Cup
Romania - Mutu is back on form, different side to the one we beat 1-0 last year

Fair enough, still wouldn't be too worried getting any of them, maybe bar the romanians, they seem to be hitting a bit form

I think the czech Republic will finish 2nd rather than Romanica as they have 2 games in hand over Romania. Slovakia could finish 2nd too instead of Russia. Norway are likey to finish 2nd too in Scotlands group. It coulc also be Croatia in Swedens group also.

Are we two wins from Germany , I reckon if we beat France and Switzerland then the outcome of the Cyprus match will be irrelevent as we would top the group on 19 points and have the better head to head against Frnace and Switzerland.

Yes, if we won those 2 games, and lost against Cyprus, and either France or Switzerland won their 2 remaining games, then us and them would be tied on the top of the table on 19 points. However, we'd qualify with a superior head to head (1 win vs 1 draw). Stuttgart88 commented on this in another thread.
