Clubs can't get punters in at the gate, but still Shels and Bohs stump up big money to sign best players. A club with a fanbase which hardly breaks 2,000. Can it be sustained or will small clubs like Dundalk bankrupt themselves again in an effort to pay the ridiculous wages for part time players of the likes of Stephen McGuinness?

Here are some interesting figures from Eamonn McCann in Sun Trib:

"Harps sources claim Keely was able to offer Minnock £1000 a game, and that this proved more attractive than Shamrock Rovers counter offer of £750 a match plus a rent-free house in the Dublin area"

"Part-timer Peter Hutton was on £400stg a week for Derry" (+ £19,000 stg for the Football in the Commumity post in Derry, which was viewed as a way of subsidising local clubs by the NI authorities while allowing them to do useful community building work as well).................it is suggested by Eamonn McCann that he may have got a sizable signing on fee from Shels even if he is, as he claims on the same wage.

Will it all end in Bankruptcies?
