It's all very quiet on the transfers front so far isn't it?
Even rumours-wise, there's very little doing. Travers to Celtic, O'Brien to Dortmund or Everton - that's about it I think?
Nothing as yet on Kelleher, Idah, Szmodics (linked with Everton a while back, but all quiet since), Hendrick (his legs may have gone, but if he did get a second wind he'd still benefit us), Johnston (his WBA spell has ended of course), Parrott, Browne, Connolly, Hodge, Lawal or any of the relegated players (Egan, Cullen, Obafemi, O'Shea, Ogbene). Luke McNally's loan at Stoke has ended too, though he's a little bit down the reckoning at centre-back.
I know there's still six weeks to go to the start of the season and the Euros will probably hold big transfers up - but a rumour or two wouldn't go amiss!
Thought this was worth coming back to with the new season starting next week - I think it's been a very disappointing summer so far transfer-wise, albeit there's still time for deals to go through.
Parrott to Alkmaar is great of course. O'Brien to Everton is a decent move, but he was fine at Lyon too, so not a huge deal. Browne to Sunderland is a little bit sideways really.
Travers and Kelleher are still stuck where they are though. (On the flip side, Southampton don't appear to have signed a keeper; McCarthy has been playing full games in pre-season). Idah probably will go to Celtic, but they scored four on the opening day so it's not an ideal situation to be coming into. Mikey Johnston was an unused sub in that same game, which is a come-down from having done so well at WBA in the second half of last season.
Connolly and Hendrick are still free agents. Nothing on the relegated players except a possibly move to Brentford for O'Shea. Szmodics linked with Ipswich but nothing more solid than that. Hodge and Connolly are linked with Hibs and Galway, which would be pretty crappy. Lawal back at Celtic and presumably waiting on a next move out. No word on anything for Obafemi, and he seems to have an attitude to match Connolly so I don't think that's a positive.
