Result from today: North End 0, Letterkenny Rovers 0, after extra-time. Letterkenny go through 5-4 on penalties. North End a bit unfortunate to go out on penos as they were the stronger side over the 120 minutes, but couldn't get the goal which probably would have decided the game. Letterkenny had a very lively No. 9 who looked the most threatening forward on the pitch, but North End began to dominate as the game wore on. All the penalties were well struck, but one North End peno was at diving height which gave the Letterkenny keeper a real chance if he went the right way, and he guessed right. Letterkenny go on to the last thirty-two of the competition.

Number 9 would have been former Harps and Derry player Adrian Delap. Letterkenny were missing their starting goalkeeper Mark Anthony McGinley today too. Featured a number of players who have played League of Ireland football too and will be tough beat in this competition.

Thanks, Nigel. Delap is a very useful player. The reserve keeper played really well also as did the Letterkenny defence as they had to withstand a lot of pressure in the second half.
