With over 4,000 tickets gone, there is a push to surpass last year's record attendance of 5,073 spectators as holders Shelbourne take on Athlone for the second year in a row.
It will also be a special day for the trailblazers of the competition who featured in the first three Cup Finals as the records have been updated to recognise the 1972, 1973 and 1974 Finals as being the first in the competition's history.

For this game, Shelbourne are aiming to win this competition for the third time, while Athlone want to lift the Cup for the first time and that makes this even more compelling a fixture - one that will be broadcast live on RTÉ2.
