    Who are the front runners

Don't turn this into a poll please.

I was wondering who the regulars here thought was the front runner for Player of the season and new player of the season.

Colie, you might want to sit down before reading the next bit otherwise you might collapse with shock...

I think Tony McDonnell is the best player we've had this season. Personally I think he's virtually unassailable at this stage but Dazza and Kenna could yet catch him. Kenna has his layoff and the period when he was out of position going against him though.

As for new player I'd say Hurley so far but a nuts run from Conan or Damo (a lot less likely but I'd rather he did it) could make the difference, in my book, with little difficulty.

Player - some very good performers, but far too many in defence, unfortunately. Quigley, McDonnell, Kenna or McNally at this stage, I think.

New Players (just the players, not the nominations; ignoring the League Cup games) are McEniff, Derek Doyle, Hurley, Damo and Conan Byrne. Looks like Hurley's a way ahead there alright. Think he's doing alright in the Goal of the Season charts too with his two goals!
