Friday, April 12th, 2002
Carlisle United never seem to be out of the news in Ireland this season and they have made the headlines again - despite today's story having nothing to do with sacked boss Roddy Collins.

Former Shelbourne striker Richie Foran moved to the north England club earlier in the season for £75,000 stg. Carlisle initially paid Shels £45,000 of this and Foran has since become their leading scorer.

However, Shels are now owed the remaining £30,000 but Carlisle chairman Michael Knighton has refused to pay up until the end of this month because of the pressing need to pay players' wages.

Foran left Ireland after claiming he was being hounded out by referees. The young Dubliner got sent off five times last season and his disciplinary record in England is unusually poor for a striker.
