KO 18:00 (17:00 Irish Time)
The match will take place at Lori Borici Stadium, the home ground of Vllaznia, situated at Rruga Djepaxhijej 2, Shkodër 4001, Albania. This stadium is conveniently located near the centre of Shkodër, just 750 meters from the primary bus station.
TRANSPORT
For those traveling from abroad, the closest international airport to Shkodër is located in Podgorica, Montenegro. Flixbus offers a convenient bus service that takes approximately 90 minutes. You can find more information and book your tickets on their website: Flixbus Podgorica to Shkodër Bus Service (https://global.flixbus.com/bus-routes/bus-podgorica-shkoder).
Alternatively, there is a public bus service available from the capital, Tirana. Buses depart every 30 minutes between 08:30 and 17:00, with some sources mentioning earlier departures at 6:30 AM and a final bus at 18:00. Tickets for this service cost approximately €4 for a one-way journey and can be purchased at the station.
If you prefer more flexibility, car rental options are available at Tirana Airport. You can also consider taking a taxi or arranging a private transfer from Tirana to Shkodër, but it's essential to agree on the price in advance.
TICKETS
Tickets for the game are not available for purchase online. However, there should be no issues acquiring tickets as the stadium can accommodate up to 16,000 spectators.
Please note that Albania is not part of the European Union or the eurozone. While a visa is not required, your passport must be valid for at least six months from your entry date. Although an Irish passport card is accepted for travel, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) recommends using your full passport.
The local currency is the Lek, with an approximate exchange rate of ALL 105 = Euro 1. You can withdraw local currency from ATMs or exchange it at various outlets. Be sure to check exchange rates as they may vary. While Euros are widely accepted, you may not receive the best exchange rate. Credit cards are generally accepted, but it's advisable to carry some cash and withdraw more from ATMs if needed.
ASSISTANCE
For emergencies in Albania, remember the following contact numbers: 126 for Road Police, 127 for Ambulance, 128 for Fire, and 129 for Police.
We recommend keeping a scanned copy of your passport on your phone and in your email, as this can be invaluable if your passport is lost or stolen and will aid in getting replacement travel documents issued.
