Five of the last eight Kerry fixtures for 2023 are at home, but of those, tomorrow's tie against Bray, and the following Friday's clash with Longford appear the best opportunities to finally clinch that elusive historic League win at Mounthawk Park. Form-wise, the Seagulls are only marginally better than the Kingdom, with their only two League victories since mid-May coming against the basement side, and like Kerry, their top scorer Ben Feeney has notched 8 First Division goals this season. As for Kerry, the contracts given to Ryan Kelliher and Ronan Teahan this week show that the long-term aim for the club is continuity of personnel, in the hope that such faith will be rewarded through greater pre-season stability, and thus improved results in 2024.

As Billy has said himself in the pre match interview, the squad have shown they can compete against all teams and Drogheda but ultimately it is about putting points on the board and finding ways to win. It's new to a lot of the players. They have spoken about it a lot so hopefully they can implement putting points on the board and finding ways to win between now and the end of the season.
A home league win is important. Hopefully they can deliver.
