Apparantly Johnny Mernagh has left United after only a couple of weeks with the club. His first appearance was in the 2-1 victory away to Kildare.Anyone know the reasons?

Limerick game as well and looked very good but unfortunately he was not prepared to give the commitment to play at this level. Its very sad as he definitely has the talent but like so many others is just not brave enough to make the step up.Stephen gave him every chance but its not the 1st time this has happened with Johnny.

This was the man who scored for Limerick at Finn Park and ran to the corner of the pitch to celebrate with fans that didn't exist, kissing the crest on his shirt as he did so. Somewhat confusing as Limerick were wearing our away strip as they didn't have an appropriate one with them. Classic eL moment.

He wasnt able to make it in on time for some of the training sessions due to work, so there was no point in carrying on if he could only make some of them, was there

some of them can **** off on holidays and walk back into the startin eleven, even though he hadn't trained and in his abence the team recorded ther best win of the season. Depends who you are really as to what you have to do to get a place on the mighty team that GUFC have become.

.. that Johnny knew before he joined GUFC that there would be some training involved. Its not as if he's a complete moron, is it

gufct's post says it all.

Johnny is one of those junior stars who could play EL football if he wanted to, but he lacks the neccesary desire, intelligence, commiitment etc.

someone is telling porkies.Stephen used to collect Johnny from the bus station and bring him to training even if this meant he was late and then Philip Reilly collected him en route from Loughrea. Stephen went out on a limb for johnny and gave him every chance but the lad threw it all back in his face another lesson learned on the managment game for stephen the latest in a long week of them.
