The big day has finally arrived, as Kerry prepare to welcome their first-ever Premier Division opponents to Mounthawk Park. Rather disappointingly, there are still some stand tickets available for tonight, and the heavy rain forecast for later on may also put a literal dampener on proceeding. The one thing that won't be lacking this evening will be confidence in front of goals, with both Kennedy Amechi and Ryan Kelliher in excellent form in recent weeks, and ably supported by Sean McGrath and Leo Gaxha, but the defensive issues have been well documented all season, with none of the five goalkeepers tried by Dennehy to date inspiring confidence, much less leadership, in their backline. Still, if Kerry can continue their recent trend of scoring twice in games, then there's always the outside chance of taking the tie into extra-time, which would be an achievement in and of itself.

You've said it all really. Kerry have been competitive without getting results. Hopefully they can turn that corner of getting results as well. Drogheda is going to be a tough game. No doubt. The trip to Waterford recently is the recent reminder of how tough a game this evening will be and even more so. If they can learn lessons from Drogheda tonight, it can stand to them.
Optimistic prediction: 2-2 draw at full time.
