The Dublin Duel between leaders Peamount United and Bohemians will be broadcast live from 19:35 on Saturday, August 19 as the League resumes following a mid-season break.*
*
The three other live games selected will take place in September with Sligo Rovers hosting Wexford Youths (September 2), Galway United taking on DLR Waves (September 9) and Wexford Youths coming up against Shamrock Rovers (September 30).
*
Presented by Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh and produced by Fogarty Fenwick, Spórt TG4’s Sacar Beo will once again feature a team of expert football analysts as well as exclusive behind the scenes action from the games – available across the Spórt TG4 social media channels and globally via the TG4 Player App.*
*
There have been four excellent games already shown on TG4 this season including Shelbourne’s draw with Shamrock Rovers in March, Athlone Town’s away win over Wexford Youths in April, Bohemians’ victory over Athlone in a superb contest in May and Peamount United’s triumph away to Shamrock Rovers in June. In total TG4 will broadcast 12 games from this season’s Women’s Premier Division.
*
TG4’s Head of Sport Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said: “We wish to thank the FAI for giving TG4 the opportunity to showcase the Women’s Premier Division on free-to-air television. We are really looking forward to all the soccer action these next few months.*
*
“This is TG4’s third year broadcasting the top tier of women’s club soccer in Ireland and we are also delighted that there will be a new Underdogs series (women's soccer focused) in the TG4 autumn schedule.”
*
League of Ireland Director Mark Scanlon said: “This is proving to be quite a special year for women and girls’ football in Ireland, at all levels of the game, and it is exciting to have such a dedicated partner in TG4 help us promote the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division as it enters into a crucial period of the season.*
*
“The title race remains wide open and that is testament to the quality of so many teams in the League. We saw that in the first part of the season, where TG4 broadcast four games, and again in the recent Avenir Sports All-Island Cup.**
*
“In each of the last two seasons, TG4 have been there to capture thrilling finishes to the League campaign and we hope this year will be quite similar with several clubs in the mix to lift the League title. We are delighted that TG4 are able to bring top level coverage of our League to a growing audience around the country.”
*
In addition, Galway United’s home game against Cork City on August 19 and their hosting of Peamount United on November 4 will both kick off at the new time of 17:00.*
