Both teams boast Irishmen in their squads with the home of Irish international football a familiar sight to those.
Matt Doherty will know the stadium very well as a regular for Stephen Kenny's side.
Doherty, who has returned to Wolves after three years, spoke about the prospect of playing in Dublin wearing the Old Gold & Black.
Speaking to Wolves TV, Doherty said: “For me and for my family they get to go to a game and see me because they’re not always able to get over to games in England.
“I know the Aviva Stadium, I know how big the pitch is, I know how hard the game is going to be, especially in pre-season.
“The atmosphere in Ireland will be great because in Ireland Wolves has quite a big fan base, and Celtic does also, so I think it will be quite a special day.”
A number of Irish underage internationals could feature in the game. Celtic have Bosun Lawal (Under-21s) and Rocco Vata (Men’s Under-19s) among their ranks. Wolves have Under-21s captain Joe Hodge and Men’s Under-19s striker Nathan Fraser in theirs.
Speaking ahead of the game Hodge, whose family hail from Dublin 2, said he was excited by the prospect of playing at the Aviva Stadium and hopes one day to wear the green jersey at senior level.
He said: “I’m buzzing for it, can’t wait for it, to be honest. Celtic are a top side, a huge club. It should make for a good game in a class stadium.
“It’s something Jim (Crawford) speaks to us a lot about (playing senior international football), about the pathway, so many who played with the Under-21s have gone on. Evan and Will were there last October, now they have gone on and won senior caps. It’s definitely something I want to do.”
Celtic v Wolves is kick-off at 2pm. Tickets are available and ticket prices start at €35 for Adults and €20 for Under-16s and can be purchased here (https://www.ticketmaster.ie/celtic-fc-tickets/artist/862032) via Ticketmaster.ie.
