The Sports Capital and Equipment Programme is the primary vehicle for Government funding support for the development of sports and physical recreation facilities and the purchase of non-personal sports equipment throughout the country.
As part of the recently announced Facility Investment Vision and Strategy for Irish Football by the FAI, the association is looking to support clubs to access all available current funding with a host of webinars designed to support all potential applicants.
Sports Capital and Equipment Programme Key Points for Applicants:
- Clubs who haven't applied for SCEP before will need to register on the Online Sports Capital Register (OSCAR) right away.
- The 2023 Round will open for applications at 9am on Monday July, 17 2023 until 5pm on Friday, September 8 2023.
- The deadline for registration is 5pm on Friday, August 25, 2023.
- Maximum grants for local projects increased from €150,000 to €200,000.
- Maximum grants for regional projects increased from €300,000 to €500,000.
- Clubs that do not own their own facility, equipment only grants are also available for up to €70,000
- All grants issued to successful clubs are awarded at a rate of 95%.
- New rules on providing similar access to facilities for men and women.
To further support Leagues, Clubs and Affiliates in the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme process, the FAI's Facility Development Department will be hosting an Educational Webinar series in the coming weeks to support clubs with their SCEP applications.
This Webinar Series will be a great resource for all potential applicants in how to go through the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme process.
All clubs, leagues and affiliates should attend to understand the benefits of this funding scheme with three webinars announced to take place next week.

WEBINAR 2 - Thursday, July 20, 6pm
1. Natural Grass Pitch Development and how to control your project.

WEBINAR 3 - Friday, July 21, 6pm
1. LED Floodlight installations and upgrades.
2. Equipment: Goal posts, Dugouts, and Accessories for your Club.
