Following a positive response in Phase One of the SESS, Sport Ireland, working with the FAI, has confirmed the start of Phase Two with the application portal open from today until Sunday, July 30.
The SESS scheme provides a fantastic opportunity for clubs or leagues to avail of much-needed funding support and the FAI is urging clubs to apply for their share of the SESS grant following a positive response to Phase One.
The FAI will lead distribution of the process of these grants and to avail of funding support for increased energy costs associated with providing sporting activity only, clubs and leagues have to meet the eligibility requirements which are outlined below.
The SESS criteria for clubs to follow is as follows:
- The Eligibility period will relate to increased energy costs (proven via utility bill) sustained between September 1st 2022 and May 31st 2023 only.
- Energy costs associated with non-sporting activity such as bars, restaurants etc. are not eligible under SESS.
- Non Energy related increases are ineligible. These include increased costs in accommodation, rent, rates or labour costs.
- Fuel costs associated with machinery, vehicles, travel or transport do not qualify. Pre-existing debts or deficits do not qualify.
- Organisations applying for support must own or lease the sporting facilities and be the primary utility bill payer.
If any club or league that applied for and received funding awards from Phase One can certainly apply for support in Phase Two but for the period/months not included in the Phase One application.
The deadline for applications is 6pm on July 31st 2023 with no late applications set to be accepted and you can find the link to the application form below.
