This related to the Helios crash a few days ago. I'm absolutely delighted they threw that sick weasel in the slammer.

Greece sentences air crash hoaxer (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4160010.stm)

A Greek court has given a six-month suspended sentence to a man who lied about receiving a text message from the Helios plane moments before it crashed.

The Cypriot craft smashed into a Greek mountainside on Sunday morning, killing all 121 people on board.

Nektarios-Sotiris Voutas, 32, was convicted of filing a false report to the authorities.

In Cyprus, the first funerals of those who died in the crash are taking place, as relatives demand justice.

Idiotic hoax. Its a pity the sentence suspended though.

I thought you could receive mobile calls or messages while in the air as altitude too high?

Bugger, didn't notice it was suspended.

You can't at the altitude they were at, which is why it's so idiotic that Sky et al reproduced it. (Although to be fair, everyone reproduced it this time.)
