Great topic, a topic devoted to the country of my dreams and the country of my favourite club in Europe and favourite national team
Rosenborg can still get the UEFA Cup spot if the coach swap gets effect (the defeat at Start does not really indicate much apart from Start being surprisingly strong this season) but I gave up hopes for a 14th crown in a row. Hopefully we start a new series next year !
The only other team I like, you could call them my second favourite northern team, is Tromso. The city where I hope to settle down one day. The only really arctic metropolis of Europe, maybe even of the world. A vivant city with 9 months of darkness, blissful! And Tromso's the northernmost club of European top flights (only one above the arctic circle) and their stadium is just next to a fjord = two reasons more to like them. My dream is 1. Rosenborg, 2. Tromso, ... 14. Molde :D

I cant belive the way Rosenborg have fallen away like that. Shocking

Yes, but there's 8 games to go. The title's impossible, European is still possible. And if not... Oh well, one year without trophy won't kill the club, even several years without trophy. There's worse things than a bad season ; if we beat Steaua the season's saved. (even though TBH I'd rather have taken the Norwegian championship crown again instead of reaching the CL again)
I also hope Tromso can save themselves...

Today's News Roundup - Courtesy of Dagbladet (Norwegian Newspaper)
Thomas Myhre's move from Fredrikstad to Charlton has been blocked by FIFA - as Myhre has already played for two different clubs in the previous year.
FIFA Regulations state that a player can only play for two different clubs between the 1st of July and the 30th of June in any one calender year.
Myhre already has done so - and therefore must return to Fredrikstad until 30th June 2006

22-year old Vålerenga player Christian Grindheim will make his debut for the full-National Team in tonight's friendly game against Switzerland at the Ullevål Stadium in Oslo.
Also in the starting line-up is fellow U-21 player Kristofer Hæstad.
Norge - Sveits (kick-off 19:00 Norwegian Time)
Starting XI
Thomas Myhre (Fredrikstad)
Andre Bergdølmo (FC København)
Erik Hagen (Zenit St Petersburg)
Claus Lundekvam (Southampton)
Jon Arne Riise (Liverpool)
Kristofer Hæstad (IK Start)
Christian Grindheim (Vålerenga)
Alex Valencia (IK Start)
Steffen Iversen (Vålerenga)
Morten Gamst Pedersen (Blackburn)

Football: Viking coach moves on
Viking Stavanger's British coach, Roy Hodgson, has announced that he will leave the club next summer to become the new coach of the Finnish national team.
Hodgson's contract with Viking actually expires at the end of 2006, but both parts have now agreed to terminate the contract six months early.

Is he the lad who played for Aberdeen? Is he German?
No - Myhre played in goal for Norway tonight (lost 2-0 to Switzerland - both goals they could do nothing about - the second one took two deflections of his own defenders, looped up over Myhre and went in)
Never went to Aberdeen - he used to play for Everton

The best goalkeeper of Norway is without a doubt Espen Johnsen from Rosenborg. I want him in goal ! Myhre was never convincing for Norway ; where's the time Erik Thorstvedt defended our goal?
