Wondering if any ye bet on Irish soccer? I find myself betting on like everything (its probably a problem) but i'd say in the last year i've had more success on the EL than anything else. Its an area where the odds compilers employed by the bookies may not possess real expertise. For instance up to last week Kevin Doyle was 7/1 with Ladbrokes to be top scorer in the EL. I had City at 9/1 with Cashmans against Djurgardens which was a ridiculous price considering the Malmo results last season. Mondays match will be priced up by all the bookies as its live on TV. Shop around for odds as the prices can vary greatly again i'd say because not a great deal of emphasis is placed on the Eircom league. I'm thinking of backing Benno and big Dan Murray because both are due a goal. Reckon 33/1 on each will be attainable.

Always have a bet on our league. The treal thing that proved I know more about the league than they did ws when paddypowers and ladbrokes both had a price on Ryan casey scoring first for Pats in the Cup Semi despite the fact he had digned for Cork about 3 months earlier...

Another good example there. The EL is not area that concerns the bookies. They probably see a small percentage of interest in it. So its definately an area of oppurtunity for someone with knowledge of it. If a premiership player coughs they know about it.

:o I lost €50 on Drogheda tonight @13/10.

The 1st division is a bit of a lottery and Shels have made it a good year for the bookies.

Mind you, I still have an outstanding bet from the start of the season of €100 on Cork City @ 9/2. :D This morning they were 2/7 in Cashmans.

I usually hedge my bets and if we beat Shels on Monday, Ill throw a tenner on Derry too.

Ive done well of late doubling trebling and quading draws. Its a tight league. The best bet this season i made straight was Finn Harps away to Shamrock Rovers. Most bookies went 5/2 but for some reason Cashmans had them at 5/1. It was an absolute oversight on their part. Rovers were in turmoil at the time.

A beter idea is to bet against Cork, pete. Then if they lose at least you'll have the money...

I know its a long shot but i threw 10 on city winning the league ,hurling and football .odds were to bad for league and hurling so i had to throw footballers in .
