His point was can you imagine certain people going after referees like that

He then goes on to mention Alex Fergusson

I'm still laughing.

Well Gill no, he wouldn't be able to get down to the pitch on time for a start.

But can I imagine Fergusson and Keane going after a ref? Hmmmmm....

Could you imagine Lennox, Richardson and Fenn going for the ref? Could you imagine O'Rielly, Farrelly and Hunt going for the ref? Could you imagine the combination of chairman/manager/player at any EL club doing that?

I genuinley couldn't give a toss if they would or wouldn't. I couldn't care less what any opposition fan thinks of Shels or what any opposition teams would have done in that situation it makes no difference to me whatsoever, I'm just saying that useing the examples of Keane and Fergusson was laughable.

Incidentally, not even the proven liars at Drogheda accused Olly of doing anything to the ref, so it has nothing to do with him/any other chairman in your analogy.

The fact you as a Shels fan don`t care about what happened (& what happened all the other times your club & its staff transgressed) reinforces exactly why Shelbourne FC, Ollie Byrne, Pat Fenlon et al should be made an example of.

Until the punishment fits the crime you'll never learn.

In fairness you have a point about Ferguson and Keane.. :D

And i can understand you defending your club and we would all do the same but as an outsider looking in Slash it does not look great for you at the moment..

I'm not defending what happened with Fenlon and Stuart Byrne though, you all seem to be misunderstanding me. They were out of order, Fenlon was right to be frustrated but wrong to do what he did and deserves a big ban, Byrne was sent off in the tunnel and so will be suspended also. That is fine. the Olly incident I didn't persoanlly see but anyone who saw it (And believe me these people have no great desire to defend the indefendable when it comes to Olly) say he did nothing, so the mass hysteria about this incident is laughable.

My point was I don't care what anyone else would have done in that situation or what any opposition fan thinks of Shelbourne, neither is relevant to me or this incident whatsoever.

If the opinions of opposition fans are so irrelevant to you, why are you debating the issue?

My original post was about Alex Fergusson and Roy Keane, not on the issue.

See?

The $h€l$ "fans" have themselves convinced it's all a plot to do down their club, and St. Nuttsy, Blessed Oliver and all the other gentle apostles and peacemakers from the Church of the Little Sportsman in Drumcondra are in fact trying to spread love, peace and brotherhood amongst all men, even if they have to beat t into everyoe, and we fans of other clubs don't understand their great mission. They are just misunderstood.

Wow, you are amazing patsh! One lad posts up saying he doesn't care about the opinions of opposition fans, and all be it rightly so (do Cork fans care what Shlebourne fans think? No, see?), you jump to the conclusion that we all think its a plot against the club?

Again; a round of applause to you sir, you really really REALLY deserve it. Now now, back to school, alright kid?

If I don't care about someone's posts, I should not constantly reply to them.

Fenlon was right to be frustrated

I thought we'd established that the referee allowed a perfectly good goal? What was he frustrated about? The 5 minutes extra time?

I see patsh has someone knew to stalk... Don't worry EnDai he goes away after a while. There was a 6 week period when he replied to every single message I posted (soome of them nt even mentioning Dolan...)

As for Shels fans argumentts, they're all crap... Shels (Stuey Byrne, Fenlon Collins, Ollie Byrne) were totally in the wrong and their actions cannot be justified.

The using of the Man U connection is a good one as AFAIK their manager and captain have never been sent off in the same game and their chief executive has never disgraced himself either on the field or in the stands. Again its not that every now and again someone throws a wobbler (Because this happens at every club) it’s the fact that it happens consistently at Shels and it seems to run from Board room level down

I think he was right to be frustrated (purely at the linesman, and our own players idiocy!), but I don't see anyone justifying his (or Stuey's) actions! ;)

The only thing I can say, is for some reason I think Ollie may be right this time. Reading the ovbservers report made me laugh at the Drogheda photographer (I'm not giving a statement cuz you think I'm lying! :)), and I think most people are just gonna wait for the result of whatever happens there before judging Byrne, regardless of past incidents. Or maybe I'm just nuts! I guess one is more plausible than the other though! :p

Don't worry little man, you'll get used to being irrelevant after another few aimless, useless seasons....

how come shels got the observers report to put it up on the message board.

how come the other shels officals (?) in the report have directly contradicted the post from a shels fan on their message board (since deleted apparently - by who????) which said:

" Lads, I was one of the nearest people to the Ollie incident with the photographer.
To be honest I was watching Ollie from the time of the Drogheda goal, he moved down to the the gap beside the dugout aand the stewerds moved over block his entry to the pitch and he seemed calm enough.
Then Shels scored, and I thought to my self ( dissapointingly) no ollie tantrum tonight! As the ref was escorted off the pitch some fans and Fenlon and Byrne tried to get to him, at this stage Ollie was still walking accross the pitch, the camera man was taking photos of what was going on(not of Ollie), Byrne copped this , changed direction and assaulted the guy, the camera man was on the floor under ollie until the stewards dragged him away.
I was only feet from this, the camera man was very rattled, it was an unprovoked assault."

i have dealt with terry collins on a few occasions and he is an absolute gentleman, i got talking to ollie once in japan, and he lived up to his persona - of the two i know which to believe, and the photographs lean in the same direction.

One think for sure is that Shelbourne FC are under severe (Financial??) pressure to win the eL.
Is it to much to assume that even failing to overcome Derry will be disasterous for Shelbourne alá Bohemians a short while ago?

Combined with not reaching the 3rd prelim in Europe (as they had budgeted for), not winning the setanta and being knocked out of the FAI Cup aleady, the financial pressures are going to heap up.

Xlex - Shels have got used to not overcoming Derry over the last number of years, so it wouldn't be any great shock to them.

They haven't beaten us in their last 7 attempts. We were the only team they didn't beat last season.

Though doubtless now that I've written this they'll go and whip our asses next month...! :D

Oh I forgot the Pats fans knew what Shelbourne budgeted on this year  Christ, ANY Irish club banking on going past even the first round is stupid at this stage. Do you have fact of this claim? Or is this just intended to spice up a thread and predict how Shelbourne will be relegated next season and voted out of the league the season after?

Arising from the incident, Sports Tonight on TV3 reported that Pat Fenlon has been banned for 4 consecutive competitive matches. Ollie Byrne's case is waiting on getting statements from remaining witnesses.
