Strange show but seems to hooked me somehow.

I heard somewhere was most expensive ever US tv show to make. Not sure why that money went.

Because it's made in Hawaii. Its costs double to do everything there. Plus they bought an old plane, broke it up and shipped it to the beach there.

That seems a bit silly. They should have done it in New Zealand, it's cheap and good for scenery. They used to film a few series down there.

Haven't really kept up to date, when the new series of SVU started I stopped altogether. Might wait for it to come out on DVD because the first few episodes were quite good.

it is indeed quite a good show,

did not see the first few episodes, but kind of hooked on it now
like the way that everyone has a back story, and no-one really trust each other, compelling viewing indeed

It has. This isn't unusual when it comes to American series in particular.

It was the most expensive pilot episode to make (I think about €2,000,000) and considering that episode's special effects and the fact that it was a movie-length episode it's not too surprising I guess.

Fantastic show btw.

Don't knoww why but I keep watching it. Writing is a bit cheesy at times but still.
Heard a rumour that they are all in pergatury (can't spell that word) Anyone else hear that? Apparently explains why the survivalist guy can walk on the island when he was in a wheelchair before.

I hope that's not true, and I don't want to find out what happened. You could with little difficulty I am sure.

The fact that other characters still suffer from their afflictions, such as the blonde with Asthma etc, then I hope that disproves what you were told. I don't know if I will read this thread again, some smart-arss is definitely going to post spoilers.

I watched every episode last season on ABC here so I know what happens. Don't worry I won't drop the slightest hint. The only thing I'll say is that Kate is easy on the eye.
The new season will be starting in another month or so here.

I think you dropped a fairly big hint there that they remain "Lost" on the
island for another season at least :)

I read the scripts on abc.com & it's so bad. I couldn't wait till the end so I just sed fukcit & went ahead & finished the whole series (24 Episodes). Painfully cringy but strangely compulsive.

Anyone want me to give it away.......

The whole fiasco is carrying on until at least 2010.

Way to dig up an old thread....

Wonder how many are still watching every week?

gustavo
09/05/2007, 12:16 PM
I'm still watching it , still look forward to it every week , realise its not for everyone , and about it finishing in 2010 , well it was expected to have a 5 series curve , this new way may have 6 but it will be 16x3 rather than 24x2 so at least its not any extra episodes , last weeks episode was one of the best so they are still going great guns and by all accounts the next 4 episodes should be great.

I stopped in the second series but have gone back for the third because I heard it was going to better, and in fairness it is. Nice to get back to what's going on on the island. Personally I think the islanders are clones, and thats what the Dharma Corporation is trying to achieve, or was trying to achieve until the Others rebelled. Clues as to why they may be clones?

Well if you look at Jack, his tattoos vary as to where they are on his body in relation of island Jack, and flashback Jack

In the first episode of this series Juliette is seen in her house poking at her face for some reason at the start, they have their book club, hear the plane coming down over head them and run out, but when it cuts outside Juliette is in completly different clothes, which made me think that there might be two of them.

The fact they are clones would explain the new twist of the real Flight 102(is that the number?) being found and everyone being dead on board

It would also explain Jack's dad being alive on the island, Locke not being crippled anymore and Locke's dad showing up on the island

It would explain this whole Ben and Jacob mystery, one could be the evil twin, one the good twin, and perhaps the Others are trying to determine whether each of the Lost characters are good or bad before taking them to join them?

It could also explain the experiments they are carrying out in relation to female's losing their babies during the second phase, maybe they are rejecting the babies as that is a flaw in the cloning process? And that could be why Juliette being there is so important to Ben, the clones are aging as normal, and the paradise they are trying to create on the island will die out with them if they can't fix this flaw

Is the legend true that it was originally intended for one series until they realised they could milk it?

The creator said he intended it to last 3 series. Such is life in US TV that he said he could've wrapped it up in one series if it was cancelled.

I don't watch it BTW, the missus does though

I think it's great stuff.... IMO you have to get "over" wondering or trying to work out the final answer as to what it's all about...unless you want to drive yourself demented!!... I just enjoy all the hints nuances references etc but have no real idea as to whether they are dead in purgatory etc... I think of it as a giant moasic that (hopefully) when the series ends will make some sense... so enjoy the ride and remember "..it's always being now.."

What in the name of God happened in Lost last night on Sky? Can't see how they are going to continue on from here for much longer, let alone another 4 series. I mean most of the Others are gone now, and we know they get off the island, so what the bloody hell is left??

Risteard
28/05/2007, 10:42 AM
I was watching the beach last night and the girlfs buddy walked in and she was reading into all the scenes until she realised that none of the lost characters were on the show.
Just shows that if you throw them any line at all, it'll keep people excited for decades.

Its another 3 series.
We only know that Kate and Jack get off the island. Richard and Ben are still alive and im sure they will have more backup but i think next season will be more about Jack and Locke , I doubt that the people supposedly coming to rescue them will in fact do that , Penny didnt know who Naomi was , interesting that Locke said to Jack you arent supposed to leave and then Jack in the flashforward wanting to go back to the island said "we werent supposed to leave"

That's good, JTS. Michael Emerson is brilliant.

Oddly enough, someone did allegedly leak the future outline of the show today. You can read all about it here (http://www.tv.com/lost/show/24313/2008-2010-leak-major-major-spoilers.-plot-outline-leaked./topic/11431-760015/msgs.html?tag=board_topics;title;13) if you want to be spoiled (I haven't.) Could be balls though.

It’s addictive and I have been watching form the very first show, I don’t really watch many TV shows that are on going apart from the CSI’s, Prison Break (back next Monday!!) and a few others, in fairness Lost picked up this last month or so really enjoyed it last night.

Yeah, the last third or so of the current series was superb. Too much padding beforehand, though. I'm worried they may have shot their bolt now. Given events in the finale, I'm not sure how the drama can be strung out over three further seasons.

In fairness how much of a an absolute legend is John Locke!!!

With the flashback that was in the future, begs the question, how many of the other flashbacks/forwards were also in the future!!!
