Serious bans, fines and points deductions have to be the order of the day. These people cannot be seen to be allowed behave in this manner and get away with it.

If you feel strongly about email the fai at andy.needham@fai.ie I've always found he replies to emails.

so what!

he doesnt have any power to sanction fenlon

fenlon and collins have been fined and "severely warned as to their future conduct" twice this season - they always get away with it because nobody wants to rock the boat

The linesman put his flag up for offside, the defenders saw it and stopped. the Drogheda striker ran through and scored with everyone thinking it would be disallowed and the goal was given, the ref went over to the linesman and the goal was still given. Only in this league

Maybe your players should learn to PLAY THE WHISTLE

I have no confidence the FAI/eL will do anything different this time. It was minor matter but Fenlon clearly broke the 50m rule for at least 2 bans this season already. The FAI/eL acknowledged it happened, said was to be discussed at the Disciplinary Committee but nothing happened.

No one likes a good loser but theres a difference being a gracious loser.

they rocked the boat quite dramatically when they took 8 points off us!

i think certain clubs appear to have more brownie points than others at fai/el level.

every time there is a barnstormer at tolka that goes against shels, oily runs amock, people go nuts, the fai fudge it, and the circle goes round and round again.

opposition teams have to start banning him from their grounds when he acts up.

The Shels defenders all stopped waiting for the whistle that never came.

When I played in the U-8's league one of the first things we were told was to play the whistle - basic stuff. Fabio kept going coz there was no whistle wheras the Shels lads all froze.

There is only one thing the referee should have done last night to collins and fenlon to stop there antics
thats a swift kick to the ghoulies and order them back to the chocolate factory!
Could you imagine what would have happened if the penalty in Longford was given against Shels
The oompa lumpas would have had a heart attack and burst there little purple heads and there would have been no chocolate made in the chocolate
factory for at least a month
THink of the children!

Why is anyone surprised? The incidents after our victory over Shels in tolka are almost identical to those last night. Fans invade pitch, players brawl e.t.c

I'm going to be contraversial and say I enjoyed watching it as it showed the absolute decline of Shels. Desperate actions by Fenlon and co. because they realise their season is over and the attempt to buy the league has failed. By god i detest Shelbourne!

p.s To the $hels fan who said they they don't worry about their rivalry with us :) We won't be worrying about you either because we have a title race to worry about.

rightio.

The point was there is no rivalry between us from our end, it is a complete one way rivalry. If we finish bottom of the first division and you win 10 in a row it wont change that, that isn't the issue.

And as I have stated before this supposed apathy from you to us is contradicted time and time again by your thug players winding us up, your thug secetary and his famous actions and your thug fans trying to charge us after the cup game!

Enjoy the race for the coveted inter-toto place :)

Not really, every single Shels fan is 100% behind you winning the league if we don't. There is no rivalry there no matter what you try and create.

I think that the top brass in the league are actually afraid of Ollie, that's why they won't stand up to him. He's a bully with a big mouth and it's about time he was brought to order.

Maybe the FAI could ask Roddy to attend the disciplinary committee meeting to keep Oily in his place :D

Thats why Ollie acted as an auxilliary ballboy, demonically sprinting up the steps of the Riverside stand the last time we beat you, thats why Heary and Collins attacked one of our players on the pitch, thats why a section of your fans shouted sectarian abuse and had to be restrained by the Gardai at the end of the game....etc. etc. etc.

You weren't bothered at all. Obviously.

I remember a time in the early 90's around the time of the 4-3 cup replay (?) when Ollie stormed out of the directors box in the Brandywell midgame because he could give it but couldn't take it back. Plus ca change.........

But I see your point, given we've beaten you so many times recently the spark does kind of go out of it a bit from our side......

Look, I truly don't care what you try and say, I don't hate Derry and Shels fans in general don't really care.

How long have you been supporting Shelbourne? There has been serious rivalry between Shels and Derry since the mid eighties. We got promoted together when we were in the first division in 86/87, when Derry won the league by 6points (days of 2points for a win). Shelbourne actually used to get a healthy enough crowd at the time but it was probably to do with the Derry City circus coming to town. We also had the famous FAI cup matches then about 15,000 there for the 2-2 at Dalymount, followed by a 4-0 relay win for us. This rivalry has continued due to the fact that we were sparring partners back then. Shelbourne were never seen as a big club but we still had a rivalry. How many cup matches have we been drawn against each other in the past number of years? Quite a lot. Playing all these cup matches against each other makes a rivalry. If you look back at the records in these games we have knocked you out on most occasions.

Your arrogance in belittling this fixture probably explains the attitude of your players when playing us. I was always confused how they could never raise their game against us  and always ended up with players fighting or getting sent off, and most importantly beat :D

I've only been a Shels support since 1992 but there has never been a big rivalry with Derry. Most Shels fans would have a positive opinion of Derry and will certainly be hoping for them to win the league ahead of Cork.

Shels rivals are Bohs, Pats and Rovers, simple as that.

Cork are emerging as a rival too, but if one or both clubs slip down the table in the next few years that rivalry will disintegrate too.

Doesn’t matter where the teams are in the league when two of the big Dublin four meet, it is always a big game and sweet as hell to win!

From the Oxford English Dictionary:

rival

• noun 1 a person or thing competing with another for superiority or the same objective. 2 a person or thing equal to another in quality

Where does it say that you have to hate a team to be consider it to be a rivalry? I wouldn't hate any team at all. Our biggest rivals would be Harps - I have no hatred at all towards them. The hatred from some fans only seems to have stemmed since the clubs started to segregate Harps/Derry fans. I have enjoyed many a nights banter with them over the years and love them bearing gifts of 3pts every match we play them. We only do well when Harps are in the top flight - we are guaranteed points.

I have a respect for what Shelbourne have achieved over the past number of years and they were a credit to Irish football last year, if not this year. This big Dublin 4 thing is ridiculous. It just shows the narrow mindedness of people from Dublin. There is no big club outside of Dublin. Your attitude would nearly make me support Tyrone in the next round against the Dubs. Nah, on second thoughts go on the Dubs!

Lets not get into semantics otherwise every team could be considered a “rival” that is not the issue here, neither is it an issue of hatred. Basically, when it comes to football your biggest rivals are those clubs you take the most pleasure in beating and those clubs who inflict the most pain in defeat.

I’m not saying that there are no big clubs outside of Dublin (I don’t know where you pulled that notion from), but the Dublin games are always the games you want to win. Perhaps it is because there is always a decent away support at these games or because you could easily meet fans of that team in a pub or something I don’t really know, football rivalry it is inexplicable!

I was devastated when Derry knocked us out of the cup but it would have been much more painful had it been Pat’s, Bohs, Rovers, or even Cork. Likewise if Derry get drawn to play any of those team I’ll be cheering for Derry.

I’m sure nearly ever Shels fan would feel the same, that is the point that Shels/ED and myself are making, and if you don’t get it at this stage well then I give up!
