That is well saucy .... almost make the drive a bit more appealing now.
I'd say the best option is go and stay the night and come back next day.
Pure balls that there is no viable option to fly up. How much to charter an Aer Arann plane up ??

Aer Aran have just started a seat sale today.
An idea would be to fly Cork Belfast with them and get a train or bus to Derry.

Going by plane ?
Be happy... I always wished for long bus trips, I enjoy it a lot, just taking the good old mp3 player, staring outside the window to the landscapes, and if you win it's a party bus drive back home ! That's actually the worst thing about supporting a Dublin club: I love long bus drives, but half of the teams are from the city or suburbs and the other half is maximum 4 hours away... Next time a Belfast team plays Cobh or Cork I'll try to pick a seat on the bus :)

Thats true, but try getting the Air Coach from Belfast to Dublin and then on to Cork, should work out at a whopping e14 one way!
So Cork Belfast can be done in e65 return with one overnight and 2 full days up north and half the time on a bus. Not to bad at all.
