And not a mention of "metatarsal" anywhere.
What a twit - kicking a wall when you're a professional footballer.
It's a big pity. It robs us of much needed cover at centre-back for the French game. Please God don't let O'Shea or Doherty near that position in that game. A fit Gary Breen would be first in line to replace either Cunningham or O'Brien now if I was in charge.
Ironically, would Paddy McCarthy have been in with a chance of stepping in for Dunne at City?

This could be very costly should either Cunningham or O'Brien not be available for any of the remaining qualifiers. Isnt Cunningham one booking away from a suspension?
Dont think kicking a wall is recommended no matter who you are, I bet he's sorry he didnt aim it in Joey Bartons direction now!

Just heard Richard Dunne is out for three months after damaging his foot in the Joey Barton incident.
He's going miss the start of the season and possibly all the qualifiers. Who can replace him?

Richard Dunne will be out of action for three months as a result of his altercation fracas with Joey Barton in Bangkok.
X-rays have revealed the Manchester City defender suffered a cracked bone in his foot when he kicked a wall in frustration after being attacked by Barton in a hotel bar.
Dunne had intervened when Barton reacted to the taunts of a schoolboy Everton fan, but got so wound up with his team-mate he ended up causing himself more damage.
"Richard has got a slight crack in his foot and we are looking at three months," manager Stuart Pearce said.
This earlier report says 6 weeks, but I guess it has been updated.

If it's only a 'slight crack' you might expect it to heal quicker. but its not looking good.

Breen is fit according to this and playing in the Premiership won't
do him any harm.

Does Andy O'Brien have another game to serve for his suspension after being sent off against Israel? I dread to think what will happen if we have to stick that donkey O'Shea in to mark Henry or Cisse against France. He'll give away ten penos and score an og.

Andy O'Brien has definitely served his suspension. One game only, basically an admittal by UEFA that he shouldn't have been sent off.
If Kenny & Dunne are out I'd have no hesitation bringing in Breen. I like O'Brien but he needs an organiser beside him. O'Shea & O'Brien could be a calamitous pairing. Breen has the experience necessary to do a job for us still. After this campaign I expect Dunne & O'Brien to be our regular pairing & hopefully Paddy McCarthy will emerge as credible cover. I really wish O'Shea will find a position & sticks to it and play week-in week-out. Very unlikely at Man Utd.

If Cunningham gets booked against Cyprus he'll miss the France match.

We are playing France before Cyprus are we not. Basically if Cunningham gets booked against France he will miss the Cyprus game. One more booking and he misses the next game

I didn't realise he had won the Greater Manchester player of the year, some honour when you consider some of the players in the area - Ronaldo, Rooney, Keane, SWP, etc

From a Saturday tabloid:
Richard Dunne has handed Ireland boss Brian Kerr a huge World Cup boost. The central defender is ready and set to return to Premiership action fro Man City an amazing 10 weeks ahead of schedule. He is already back jogging in Eastlands- without experiencing any signs of discomfort, so the player himself reckons that he will miss out on only the first fortnight of the new Premiership campaign.

If that's true it's great news...

O'Brien doesn't need an organiser next to him, O'Brien is an organiser, and future Ireland captain in the making. He doesn't need Gary Breen to tell him what to do.

If he doesn't need an organisor beside him he's shíte without one.

He picked up the foot injury by kicking a wall in frustration.
