He's been captain now in the last three games for the U21s it seems.

Another against Barnsley tonight - making a late case for the November friendlies?

Kenny had him in the training camp last year, and gave him his U21s debut. Bangs in a couple more over the next two weeks and he might give Kenny something to think about in terms of bringing him to train. Don't think we'll see new caps bar maybe Smallbone but could see him bringing a couple in to train like he did back in March.

that's quality. lad has all the ability to make it. I thought he was more of a threat from distance when he came from bohs to rovers but he's quicker than you'd think and very, very clinical. can head a ball too. needs to learn to keep his temper on in check but he has improved in that regard a bit.....maybe.

Let’s see how he does throughout the season and see if he can move up a level. We’ve had innumerable highly regarded domestic exports who have failed to impress over the past couple of years. We need to think bigger than league 1 level

Lovely footballer. A pure striker of the ball. Can pick a pass. He’s quick, decent in the air. Takes a beautiful free kick. He’s also very versatile within the midfield. He’s pretty lightweight but he’s tough enough to take his knocks and get up and go again. Games used to pass him by in his Bohs days but I feel that’s not really an issue any more

I’d call him up in November. He’s one of a handful of creative midfielders who might provide something different and he’s young and in form, so little to lose. And this is basically the only low risk time to introduce a new squad member like Mandriou or Danny McNamara at right back

He’s 24 years of age and is playing league one football. How high is his ceiling in reality?

Personally reckon he'll be a decent championship level player. Don't think he has the fight in him to break the premier League.

Probably high enough for Ireland......but that's not saying much. I'd agree with Nigel. I don't think he has the temperament to go higher than the Championship but he was improving all the time with rovers. Really fun to watch as he could do everything at LoI level, at least when he was on form. Long way to go to prove he can do it week in week out at even at L1 level though.

forget about fight, he doesnt have the ability for PL. I'd like to think he has a better chance than most of making it to a mid table championship side.

I find it weird that someone like Anthony Scully bangs them in for two years for Lincoln but doesn't gets a sniff - but this lad goes on a little scoring spurt over a couple of weeks and people want him called up to the senior squad. I would want to see him do it at this level or higher over a longer period of time before I'd start to consider him for a cap.

25 league goals in 85 games is hardly "banging them in", to be fair.

Pretty sure many were calling for Scully to be included in some squads. Think one issue Scully has which would probably see Mandroiu getting a cap before him is Mandroiu is a midfielder whereas Scully is more a wide forward.

It's pretty good for a player who isn't a centre forward.

So Scully's 25 goals in 85 league one games vs Mandroiu's 36 in 90 LOI Prem appearances - which is the better record?

And is either good enough to be considered ahead of Parrott, Obafemi, Robinson, Ogbene, Hogan or Keane? And even if there's a place open in November, should it go to Georgie Kelly, after the start he's made at Championship level to go with his record of 32 goals in 79 LOI Prem games

Quite the pile on for stating that 25 goals in 85 games isn't banging them in.

It's a decent return for someone who isn't an out and out striker. It's not banging them in though.

As for all of this, I'm not sure where I've referenced any of it.

I hope I’m wrong but I think Anthony Scully is someone who would struggle going up the levels, maybe it’s just a lack of true pace playing wide - don’t think he’ll ever be good enough to play international football. A bit like Ronan Curtis. Mandriou is more creative and less of a goal scorer but I think he’s have a decent chance of moving comfortably to the next level

I think Mandriou is actually more of a goal scorer than a creator to be honest. He became a finisher rather than an assister at Rovers and it suited him down to the ground. He almost works better with fewer touches on the ball. Reads the game well and makes really good runs. Himself and Jack Byrne were starting to look lethal before he left. Jack playing the pass and Danny making the run.

Would have taken you ten seconds to Google and see that you're completely wrong. He's scored five penalties his whole career, with three coming in League One, one in an U19s friendlies for us, and one in an U18s game for West Ham.

Thats such a sweet strike. Like something from a comic book cover. Technique to drool over.

Their fans seem a bit confused about him. Talk of him being a luxury player who goes missing at times. That sounds reasonable but he's only really finding his feet. For both Rovers and Bohs he had veins of form where he very, very good week in week out. He also had games where he couldn't get into it at all. I was fairly gutted when he left as he was really striking up a good partnership with Jack. Has a great football IQ (which makes up for his lack of a normal IQ) and Jack was able to play on his level. I wonder are Lincoln getting the most out of him.

Notched his fourth and fifth goals of pre-season today in a 2-1 win over Crewe. Seán Roughan (ex Drogheda) had a hand in one of them.

Lincoln have been quiet enough in the transfer market and not sure they've enough to kick on from mid-table last year. But if Mandroiu can bring his form into the league, maybe he can raise some transfer interest of his own?

A really good game for Mandroiu it appears with a goal and two assists for Lincoln in a 3-0 win. His goal coming from outside the box. I’m sure those with more sleuthing skills than me (looking at you JR89!) can post the goals when they’re up!

Could have told them he was a midfielder before they signed him
