I think we all know who's going to win that one!!!
Actually the way waterford V Cork games go every year you'd never know who would win but i predict a 2-2 :)

Although we're in bloody awful form, it still should be a good game. We always seem to be up for Munster derby's.(especially in turners cross)
It will be tight as usual but i predict..7-0 to City.. :D ;)

Ye have the best defence in the league, won't concede to Waterford. 4-0.

I missed that game, I was gutted :( Hence me wanting us to give them a good hiding on friday to make up for my personal disappointment :D

i think Waterford could get a right hiding here.
if we get an early goal we'll crucify them 4 or 5-0

From what I heard on the radio, Waterford were unlucky not to go in level at the break on Friday. They were trying hard and could well come to the Cross with a Longford style approach. This could be a tough first 30 minutes for us going by our home form. Wit the best strike rate and best defensive record in the league, we must expect to win this game though.

i was only saying the other day that foot.ie had gone a bit quiet since the waterford fans with their inferiority complexes (WE ARE BIGGER THAN **** CAUSE MY MUM SAID SO kinda ****e) went into hiding and stopped spouting on about them being the best team in munster/ireland/brazil....
amazing what the threat of bankruptcy and a crap team thats going to get relegated will do eh?
anyway, welcome back lads, we missed your intellectual offerings round these parts..
back on topic, its a tough game, a very tough game, but they always are at this stage of the season, when your're top of the table everyone wants a piece of ya
sorry i'll repeat that bit there for any United fans who may have been tucking into a blaa...
Top of the Table
but there's no reason we shouldnt win this.. i'll go with the quite possibly unlikely but maybe if we get an early goal scoreline of 40-0, with john o'flynn to get ten hat tricks and everyone else in the team to get one as well just for the laugh like, even McNulty converting an 89th minute corner after city decided to play 11 outfield players cause waterford left their map to goal in Youghal....

I really can't wait for this. Nothing better than a Munster derby on a Summer's Evening. Pretty confident, hoping for a 2-0 maybe.

confy 3-0 waterford thats for sure.
I think thois will be a lot tighter tham many seem to think.
Waterford always raise their game for the Munster derby, they seem to get an extra dose of spirit and adrenaline from somewhere.

This will be a tight game and I agree with Patsh that the Munster derby are never foregone conclusions. We'll be up for this game and a result here could save our season. We will not roll over and be at the recieving end of a cricket score. I can understand why the C/\wkies are getting carried away talking about 3 points already in the bag and four nil to us.
I'm looking forward to match and going on past games, there will be goals and excitement aplenty. If this game is not shown on the box, it just confirms my belief that the TV companies do not wish to venture beyond the pale. The Munster Derby between two of the biggest clubs in the province is perhaps a far greater spectacle than the overhyped Bohs - Rovers rivalry in terms of attendances and buildup.
Hopefully Waterford can do us a favour before we beat Cork in the Brandywell ;) :D
Dortie...Bohs will take at least a point off you in the Brandywell.. ;)
I agree with Partizan..this game should be on TV..its a big Munster derby and there will be a packed Turners Cross with good support also coming from Waterford to add to a passionate game..great advertisement for our league..this could be a 3-2 result or in fact any result really..derbys are likely to throw up anything..one thing for sure is that both sets of fans will slag each other but there will be no rocks thrown.. ;)

I'm saying 5-0 to City. O'Flynn brace, Fenn, CT O'Brian and George. We owe them one.

...and four nil to us.
Are you nuts!?
You couldn't put 4 past a Sisters of Mercy Select XI!
...with good support also coming from Waterford to add to a passionate game
I wouldn't count on that.
Waterford fans will probably be no more than 150 and there will be little passion in the game with the likes of Reynolds, O'Connor and Bruton gone from Waterford. This wont be a classic by any stretch of the imagination.

Because no one would see it if he posted it in the Waterford section. :D

The one where Ollie got a hat-trick? I seem to remember being in the Derrynane too for some reason (Im in the Shed usually). It was a good old fashioned a$$ whooping (I actually thought it was 5-0, but who's counting). The Donnie Ford was open and Im thinking it was around 1998, maybe 1999.

I think it may have been 5-0 too. Oillie was on fire than season & usually was doubled marked. I think he got 5 players sent off on his own that year.
Leagues are won by 1-0's. With Derry only 4 points behind a win is very important. We need to keep wining & hope they slip up at least once.

The Derry and City match should be a cracker in the Brandywell. I wonder what the attendence will be?
