Does anyone have one of these devices..I was thinking of getting one. The prefix is 083 I think, and I've read conflicting reviews.....Anyone??

The 083 prefix is only for the "3" network, you can keep your own number if you want to move to 3G. I've had a fiddle with one and I think they are vastly over rated, the soccer and gaa highlights are a bit of a novelty for an hour but after that its back to the standard uses, talk and text.

I've got a vodafone 3G handset.
Top notch phone, the best I've ever used but that just the phone.
The actual 3G content available from vodafone such as GAA video highlights and Premiership goals are something that I can easily live without.

There's a setting on the handset for Dual Mode or GSM.
I usually leave it on GSM because in Dual Mode it will always pick 3G if it can get a trace of a signal. 3G uses the battery power more than twice as fast as GSM.

What is the relevance of that fecking ad with that scary annoying little Oriental girl (she is pure evil I tell thee!) and the singing fruit?

Exactly. Dispite being legally required to provide a 3G network i think 3 only have a few test users at this stage. I think they never mention prices because they don't have any. Guy at work was saying he tried to join them but not possible.

In Indo today 3 had details of price plans. I think €25 was basic plan for 200 includsive minutes. 60% coverage on 3G services, 98% 2.5G (if thats whats called).

I think they just added them this week as just launched service.

Prices will definitely shake up the market & about time.
